We will take a cultural walk around the Palenqe of Benkos, off the beaten path, where you will be immersed in the Africa hidden in Colombia. We named it Black Legacy Experience, because it is definitely an essential place for our black history in Colombia. This town hosts a sort of spin off of Cartagena's history in timeline. We are new in Airbnb, but you can check out a bit of our trajectory on IG @blacklegacyexperiences We’ll pick you up, and here begins our journey. We’ll be on the road for around 60 minutes. There, we meet our friend, the native guide and we start our walk. We visit meaningful spots such as the monuments of Benkos Biohó (the town founder) and Kid Pambelé (World Boxing Champion) and the Traditional medicine yard, among others. After that, we conclude with a glorious traditional lunch. From there we will ride together to Guanabacoa, our hometown. Once there, you will learn about the influence of the Afro-Cuban religions in our cuisine while we share a typical beverage. Then, Jose´s mom will show you how to cook in our local style, having the opportunity to understand when, why, and how we prepare each dish. Finally, we will enjoy tasting the different plates that we prepared and, in that moment, when we are laughing and sharing our personal stories under the rhythm of drums, you will realize that the simple act of eating assumes mystical dimensions and has the power to bring strangers together like family. At the end of the day you will know how flavors, music and dance tell the story of the desires and struggles of our African ancestors. We will also learn about the local rhythm ( champeta) and dance so please don't be shy and let's have fun. We will eat some delicacies from the world renowned Cecilia's Restaurant. This restaurant was visited by Anthony Bourdain in 2008. We will try the local soda, beer and sample delicious fruits. You will be able to inmerse in our daily life, to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Bazurto public market and the most important you will have an adventure of how to discover to be a local in Cartagena. I am happy my job is my hobbie, It would be amazing if you can enjoy this hobbie with me. Other things to note The public market is a noisy place, where the smell can be strong sometimes, so if that its not something important for you, then join this experience. This experience focuses on the difficult process of making a cigar. From the hand of an experienced cigar roller we will learn to make an examplar, we will explain all the specificities that accompany the process of making this product, from the time it is grown, until it reaches your hands. This will be the perfect time for our CIGAR CHALLENGE, after which we will reward the best cigar roller of the experience. After choosing our winner (special ceremony included), we will go on to what we consider to be an authentic ritual: the smoking of the habano, action that we will combine with other delights, giving way to an excellent pairing among cigars, rum and coffee. And then, SURPRISE, a second contest!! We will be competing among each other to select the person who manages to keep the longest cigar ash, and the one who best performs some other tricks we will be teaching you. This is called: LONG ASH CONTEST. At the end of the experience more gifts will come, and that is because we do not want you to leave without taking with you souvenirs related to this experience, so you will be bringing home with you some amazing memories but also little things that will forever remind you of Cuba. In this Adventure you will visit the Tanama river in the Arecibo area. It starts with a hike down a muddy, slippery and rocky trail to the river(1.5 miles of hard hiking). We will arrive to the top of a cave and do a 250 ft long zipline that will take your breath away with the view. Here is where most participants rest a while for the next activity. When we are all set we will hike upstream to a huge cave and then jumped into the refreshing water. We will enter the caves and we will see some amazing water curtains and springs. At the exit of the second cave we do a small stop and you will have the option of submerging into the water to visit a secret cave. Tour isn’t over yet. Now the guides will show you the best tricks to do the white water tubing. While you are in the white water tubing you will pass some rapids and also some amazing canons all the way until you get to the third and last cave. At the exit of this cave you will do a small climb and the hike back to the cars. Duration 4-6 hours. Other things to note Don't let the beautiful sights fool you. This adventure is for real adventure and nature lover only. Please do NOT daydream. If you are not sure that you don't qualify you probably don't.

Our tour starts just in the heart of the city, we ́ll visit some historical – religious – cultural – and social, important and interesting places, well preserved through out years and centuries. We ́ll get into the city till its limits, we ́ll walk by the streets and visit some old slave markets. Later, we ́ll get into the Sugar Mills Valley to visit and see farms and sugar mill ruins, a living witness of the independence war against the spanish colonialism, you ́ll have the chance to take excellents photos of country landscapes, we ́ll make our own route and will talk about those used by the African slaves to run away from the sugar cane plantations. The first one is about 4.2km(2.6 miles) to get into the forest, where we ́ll take a rest for snacking. The 2nd part is about 2.1km(1.3 miles), having some stops to talk with the farmers, visit their houses and also to know their way of living at the mountains. We will see our national bird - Tocororo, besides another birds, reptiles, trees and flowers. Just at the end of the tour and for relaxing, we ́ll swin in a waterfall natural pools and we will come back in a very fabulous american car, of the fifties. Other things to note Our hiking experience has the characteristic of being an educational tour, with the possibility of knowing our customs, traditions, social situation and natural areas protected by our country.

Embarquez le temps d'une demi-journée pour une balade en mer sur un bateau à moteur à "taille humaine" à la découverte des Fonds Blancs et des Ilets du François et du Robert ! Vivez une expérience authentique alliant détente, convivialité, culture, histoire, connaissance de la faune et de la flore et partage ! Après un départ du Port de Pêche du François, vous découvrirez le Quartier Presqu'île et sa Mangrove. Puis nous vous présenterons les différents îlets du François (Lavigne, Frégate, Long, Pelée, Oscar et Thierry) avant de s'arrêter sur les fameux Fonds blancs de la « Baignoire de Joséphine » ! Nous ferons ensuite escale à l'Ilet Thierry où vous pourrez plonger et observer ses poissons tropicaux. Nous naviguerons le long de la barrière de corail en direction du Robert et nous descendrons à l'Ilet Chancel où vous rencontrerez les iguanes ! Enfin, nous nous arrêterons pour un dernier arrêt baignade aux magnifiques Fonds blancs du Trapèze et nous finirons par une remontée en direction de l'ilet Madame avant de rentrer au Port du François. Nous allons découvrir le stand-up paddle à la plage de Babin, un havre de paix calme et loin des circuits fréquentés. L'initiation terminée, direction l’îlet Macou en longeant la Mangrove. Debout sur la planche, glissant sur des eaux limpides, vous aurez une vue privilégiée sur la faune et la flore maritime. Dans la bonne humeur et la convivialité nous découvrirons l’étonnante richesse et la complexité de l’écosystème du Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin. Nous parlerons des principaux rôles de la mangrove, des espèces qui s'y abritent et vous saurez tout sur les palétuviers. Le stand up paddle permet aussi de s’aventurer dans des espaces étroits, inaccessibles en bateau, pour découvrir la beauté du cœur même de la mangrove. Cette randonnée vous entrainera ainsi sous des tunnels de végétaux formés de galeries de palétuviers. Après cette visite au cœur de la mangrove, une halte dans une petite crique pour une citronnade maison bien méritée. Live a true El Yunque rainforest experience with a local. Excellent for foodies and adventure fans. We visit 2 waterfalls and the famous waterslide. TRANSPORTATION INCLUDED. Adventure to pure rainforest and learn the history of its unique flora & fauna like iguanas, guava trees, bamboos and 300 year old trees. We drive to the East side of El Yunque Rainforest. On arrival we do a 30 minute hike to the first waterfall & watering hole. There you can enjoy the landscape, swim in the water, and scenic waterfall. Further up, after a 15 minute hike (High difficulty level), there is another waterfall with a natural waterslide. We end the trip by stopping for lunch at a local family owned restaurant that serves authentic grandma style food (Food not included in price). The hike for these outdoor wonders requires regular shoes with “good grip” that can get wet and muddy. The trail is very muddy and clothes will get fully wet. NO FLIPS FLOPS OR CROCS ALLOWED. Safety is my priority and we will have a fun adventure to show you the authentic essence of Puerto Rico & secret gems of the rainforest. Good Physical Condition required. Hike can be challenging for participants that are not active or exercise regularly. Bring water, towels/change of clothes for a full day of fun and beautiful new experiences. ***Please be aware this experience is great for beginners and those with little experience swimming, but If you have a deep fear of water or the ocean it may impact your experience - we are dive instructors not psychologists*** We will begin our adventure with an ocean-side safety briefing while everyone is fitted for their equipment. Once we chat about how to responsibly and passively interact with turtles and other sea life, we will walk down to the beach and hit the water! We will take it nice and slow so you have a few moments to get accustomed to your gear and you feel confident enough to enjoy the underwater world. This is a natural sea grass bed, which is why we are blessed with turtles :) Please do remember, however, that this is a completely wild experience and we could never guarantee the sighting of a wild animal. 99 times out of 100 we see several baby and adult turtles per tour! At the end of the tour we will transfer your videos to you while we enjoy conversation with a nice view! So what are you waiting for? Let’s go!

Our award winning LED Night Kayak excursion is unlike anything you've ever done before! Upon check-in, put on your colorful glow paint, aka “War Paint” and snap some great photos! Your guides will then provide a quick “Kayak 101.” (Make sure to listen up, this is key to a FUN and safe adventure). Ready, set, GLOW! Enjoy the LED glow of your kayak as well as the CITY LIGHTS surrounding the entire lagoon. These skyline views are breathtaking! This is truly a great way to see the city from a different perspective and have an absolute blast while doing so. What else? Our kayaks have CLEAR bottoms, like a glass-bottom boat - you may even spot a Seastar near the mangroves! This guided Urban Adventure is a "must do" when visiting San Juan. Don't miss out, paddle out, and "Experience the GLOW!" Notes: - Our 6pm tour is our "Dusk to Dark" tour. It'll be completely dark by 6:15pm. - Time on the water = 45 minutes.
