Tugela River Lodge: Hot Tub Hideaway

Tugela River Lodge is a pet friendly, self-catering Eco-Lodge, located on a private cattle and game farm on the banks of the Tugela River, near Winterton, KZN, South Africa. We run off solar and gas and invite guest to come and enjoy the quiet side of nature. Our lodge has access to many miles of trails for hiking, biking and running through our private game farm where one can get up close and personal with our resident giraffe. Relax with the whole family on this working farm nestled in the bends of the Mooi River. Experience the peace of the meandering Mooi River, nature, livestock and overlook the quiet bustle of an active farmyard. Unfortunately due to ongoing biosecurity measures access to the dairy and cattle areas will not be allowed. The cottage is self catering, and close to Mooi River town for supplies or takeaways. There is 4km of rough dirt road to access the farm (high clearance vehicles recommended)

Situated in one of the safest, crime-free areas of SA, with tar roads all the way, is INKUNZI CAVE. A totally unique, owner built unit with a Bushman theme. 1 bedroom only with double bed. Single bed in lounge . An amazing "rock" bath and separate shower. Overlooks a beautiful rock pool. Very private. 2 other cheaper units on the property are listed separately: THE ZULU HUT, and DIDDLY SQUAT. All have stunning mountain views, are comfortable and fully equipped for self catering.

Coffee shops and restaurants within a few minutes drive. Please note: there is a private pool, for hosts only, that isn't fenced off..

A hop, skip and a jump off the N3, situated in in the Van Reenen Eco Village Precinct. Down the road from the little church tea garden. A great one night stop off. Breakfast at the Tea Garden (not included) or take a early morning walk before continuing with your journey. Dinner can be booked in advance. No charge for children/elderly parent sleeping on lounge bed if accompanied by both parents.
