You’ll learn how to create beautiful Japanese dishes using step-by-step recipes that will make your friends and family back home crave more. You’ll learn how to make tofu salad, Onigiri (rice ball) with various flavors, mini gluten-free Okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) made by Tofu instead of using flour and Macrobiotics style miso soup which you can make with ingredients bought from a supermarket in your own country. You can choose fillings freely for creating your own Onigiri from various ingredients like a Sandwich shop. Macrobiotics style miso soup is tasty miso soup made with vegetable "umami" without using soup stock. My theory is that Japanese cooking is simpler than it looks, healthy and creative. I choose ingredients and seasonings carefully for making healthy meals. People who are allergic to gluten can join my lesson safely by using gluten-free ingredients and seasonings.

Mari met us at the train statin with a smile that never dimmed the whole time we were together. She did a great job managing our big group with 4 kids. The lesson was informative and the food was delicious. We'll definitely be making these recipes at home!!! Highly recommended!!!

My partner and I joined Mari’s class when we visited Osaka last week. We were expecting to learn about Japanese cuisine and we got exactly that and more. Mari shared her marcobiotics principles, how food has both yin and yang properties, and how we can prepare fresh, healthy, and fun food when we get back home. I personally loved the okonomiyaki and onigiri—we can recreate those at home with similar ingredients. Mari also went out of her way and walked with us to Osaka-jo Hall where we can see the Osaka Castle from across the river. I enjoyed our time with Mari and I will happily recommend her class to those who appreciate a hands-on cooking class experience.

Mari is accommodating and friendly. She has a lot of stories to tell and asks to share your stories too. Her home is simple, clean, and very charming. We enjoyed all the recipes she prepared for us to cook. We will definitely try to do those back at home. I will recommend her to friends as well so they can enjoy her cooking class just like we did. We two participated in Mari's dining kitchen. Mari welcomed us warmly in the station despite of us being late for the fixed meeting time . Mari was very attentive and communicative so that we could be deeply familiarized with her personal life, unique method of cooking "macrobiotic". Throughout the class, we could enjoy the decoration of the table, elaborate foods and Japanese-style interior. Mari smoothly taught us her knowledge without any problem. Though one of us was Japanese, she could acquire and encounter new knowledge and more "Japanese way of treating food". Finishing the cooking class, she guided us around the shopping street and navigated us to Osaka castle. In a nutshell, the class was wonderful and recommendable to all guests.

Mari was a very thoughtful and welcoming host. She had prepared notes and recipes for us. In that way we could understand the reasoning behind the style of cooking. It was different to me and helped me understand about yin and yang foods. The table was prepared beautifully and we both enjoyed helping to prepare the food and then sitting with Mari to eat. Later Mari kindly took us to see some beautiful gardens and a castle. Our whole day was excellent.
