In contrast to some of the negative reviews written here, this was one amazing experience. Mohamed was a wonderful host and we had a great time during the drive as well as going through each of the sites. Mohamed is extremely flexible and also very proactive in making sure that all our needs are taken care of. He provided us with a lot of interesting insight on the different locations as well as added a couple of fantastic unplanned stops. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Thank you Mohamed for your amazing hospitality.

Had a wonderful time on the trip with Mohamed. The tour was really well organized. Mohamed shared a number of personal stories as well as stories and tales about Volubilis, Moulay Idris and Meknes throughout the trip. He was flexible with our requests and did his best to accommodate the maximum number of sites in the three places mentioned above. He helped us experience local spots for lunch, coffee and desserts. I highly recommend the trip to anyone looking to travel in and around Fes

Mohamed is a super nice person and he really makes me and my friend feel welcomed. He really cares persons and really has passion to introduce his city Fes. He is super helpful and tries to help us save money in Meknes. He is also super flexible to extend the time to drive us and let us spend more time to explore wanted places in Fes. He helped us to find a super interesting and knowledgeable guide in Volubilis and Moulay Idriss, so that we could have a better understanding for the ruins. I will vote him full stars and really recommend him to others.

Let's get something clear from the start: THIS IS NOT A TOUR WITH A GUIDE. This is just a day trip with a driver who drops you off at a few places and tells you to explore by yourself. For more than USD 50/person. We booked this trip because of the extremely high ratings and we've never been more disappointed. The communication from the start was not great. We had to make the initial contact and provide them with some info on where to pick us up, our phone numbers, etc. Mohamed himself came to pick us up at our hotel but promptly handed us over to a driver. We then picked up three other guests (and a toddler) and Mohamed bid us goodbye and left us with the driver. The journey to Volubilis was around 90 minutes. We expected the driver to share with us the culture, history and stories of Fes and Morocco but that didn't happen. Either he wasn't knowledgeable enough or just couldn't be bothered. We made a few pit stops along the way to take photos and he would say a sentence or two about what we were looking at. And that was that. When we arrived at Volubilis, he told us that he'd be waiting outside because local guides aren't allowed in. The entrance fee was 70 dirhams/person. More if you want to hire the local guides. We decided to walk around on our own. It's definitely stunning. The next stop was the town of Moulay Idris. The driver parked right in front of the medina and told us to wander around on our own. There wasn't any information on what to do, where to go, what to see. Nothing. Nada. This was when we questioned him about the "guided" part of the tour. He claimed that it was written on their profile that they will not be guiding us because it's forbidden. He said he'd call to check with Mohamed. So we were on our own again, getting harassed NON-STOP by local men offering to guide us to see the panorama at the top of the medina. We got lost many times and were frustrated from being harassed and followed everywhere. The couple that was with us was travelling with a toddler and they were getting tired from going up and down the steep steps. They finally had to be very stern with one of the men who was persistently following us and pestering us. It took us a while to find our way back to the car. And once we were there, the driver claimed once again that it is not their responsibility to guide us. When I mentioned that we paid a lot of money (a total of over USD 250 for all 5 of us) to be driven around in a car without a guide all day. And his rationing was that sometimes they only receive two guests. Not our problem. At this point we were beyond upset. The couple requested to have lunch at a restaurant that serves pasta for their toddler and the driver took us to a place where he knows the owner well--an awful massively overpriced restaurant with "international" food (EUR 10 for a terrible pasta) in an over-the-top setting. The rest of the group didn't eat because of the high prices. At our last stop, the city of Meknes, he made a little more effort to be engaging. When he pulled up at the city, he pointed to us where to go and what to see, told us bits and pieces of information. At Meknes we weren't harassed as much as there were hardly any tourists. By the time we got back to Fes, we were all too exhausted to see the view of the Fes Medina from above. When he dropped us off, he begged us many times not to leave them a bad review. Incredibly unprofessional. If you're confident with the service that you've provided, there's no need to be afraid of bad reviews. It was obvious that he felt guilty. Before I wrote this review, I noticed that they had recently added an extra disclaimer on their profile: "Note : It is not to allow us to guide you in volubilis moulay Idriss and Meknes because there are local guides and are not included in the tour , and it can only be guided in case of more than 4 people . - the entry fees are not included." We were a party of 5 + 1 toddler = more than 4 people. We met an English group of tourists with a local guide (with a proper badge hanging around his neck) who accompanied them to both Volubilis and Moulay Idris. So obviously, it's allowed if you're a certified guide. This company doesn't seem to have any certified or qualified guide since they claimed that local guides aren't allowed in. I'm writing this to be fair and to let future guests know what to expect on this drive. It's not a tour. It's a drive. Not worth the money.

This is a long day and there isn't much time to linger or explore, but it's a great way to see these three locations in one day if your schedule is tight. We were fortunate to have local guides in each location, which really added to the experience. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a day off from Fes and wants to experience these important cultural sites!

The visits were good. I particularly liked the ruins and Meknes. Mohamed was a safe driver and friendly. We had issues with him being able to find our Dar (the maps app sent him to the wrong part of the Medina). I would suggest meeting somewhere more central and easier to find. Our other issue was that we were supposed to be at a cooking class at 5:30 and we didn’t get back to Fes until 6:30. Mohamed did a good job of communicating with our next host and it all worked or fine but I felt terrible about being late and for the inconvenience we caused for our next host and his family. It also was frustrating because we needed to hurry back but we also wanted the other two women on the tour with us to get to see everything they wanted to see. I ended up feeling bad for them as well. Also, bring snacks because we didn’t stop for lunch until 2:45. We are grateful to Mohamed for coming back to pick us up after the cooking class and returning us to the medina entrance closest to our Dar. That was a huge help! This activity would be good if it’s the only thing you have planned and you have snacks with you.
