We ask that you please send us your request at least 24 hours before check-in. Please include car model/make, color, State of registration, and license plate number for the vehicle you plan to use during your visit. If you are renting a car, please let us know so that we can plan ahead. We will do our best to accommodate last minute parking permit requests but given these are issued by the City, we cannot guarantee it. Please keep in mind this permit is for parking within ANC1A area only (Columbia Heights and Park View neighborhoods). A map of the ANC1A area is included in the house photos for your reference. This permit does not allow you to park for free on metered spaces. We advise you to read all parking signs carefully to avoid being issued a parking ticket. The host is not responsible for paying parking tickets. There will not be a paper copy of the permit issued. The City has started an electronic permit system as of August 2025. There is no fee for obtaining the permit.

Walking distance to 2 metros (Dupont & U St), 3 grocery stores, unlimited restaurants, movie, clubs and live theatre, all on a quiet tree-lined block.

Your home away from home is the entire first level, daylight basement of our walk-up rowhome in the heart of DC's historic U Street Corridor. The modern, one-bedroom open concept unit has big bay windows in the living area, providing a garden view and ample sunlight (see pics). There is a queen bed and a queen pull out couch. A one block walk to the U Street Metro stop provides direct access to the monuments and museums on the mall. Too many restaurants, shops, and bars to list just steps away!

There is a large TV and dogs are allowed for a $75 fee per stay for first pet, $25 per additional (additional pet fee after the first will be billed after your reservation is complete). Note: While suite is private and closed to main home, home has 2 cats—a consideration for those with allergies. Also, it’s an old, connected home with original floors, and thus not soundproof.
