Find a Country Feel in the City with Rural Views

Sit out in the backyard then come indoors to relish leafy views from a triple-aspect living room. The apartment has a cottage feel with window boxes and wooden fittings. A hanging plant, and white linens provide a calming feeling. Awake to the songs of birds and explore our 1/2 acre of fruit trees, vegetable beds, and landscape. Yet most of San Diego’s attractions are just 5 to 10 miles away. The new kitchen is included in your space so you can prepare your own meals if desired. Cooking equipment included are a convection toaster oven, coffee maker, hot pot, a microwave, and an induction plate, pots & pans, kitchen tools, cutlery and dishes. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper, cooking oil, and ice. This space is attached to our main home but you’ll have your own separate entrance and private kitchen/ living, bed and bath. We'd love to greet you and show you around when you arrive, but if we happen to miss you will have your own unique door code to get in. We’ve prepared a binder of information for guests and can help you plan for best use of your time. However if you prefer to be on your own we’re fine with that too. We have walked to downtown or to the nearest trolley, but unless you are walkers and out for exercise, you will probably want a car. There are now lots of bikes available for rent, but it will be uphill to get back to the house. Some of our guests have chosen to rely only on Uber, in which case grocery and/or meal delivery are helpful. If you have an afternoon or evening flight you are welcome to store luggage at our house after your 10 AM check out. We are in a hilly residential area with stores, restaurants and bus/ trolley access about 2 miles away, so you'll have the most flexibility if you come by car. If you choose to Uber, you can order groceries or takeout meals to be delivered.

La Jolla Beaches, downtown San Diego, the Zoo, and Sea World are 25 minutes away. Santee Lakes is just a short drive away where you can enjoy fishing, paddle boating, splash park, biking and picnic area. Mission Gorge Trails is also located just 5 minutes away.

Listing sleeps up to 4 guest. After third or fourth person an extra fee of $15. dollars per person, per night will be charged, comfortable, private studio in a great neighborhood in La Mesa. Freeway close to SDSU and the heart of downtown San Diego. Some local attractions are Sea Port Village, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Balboa Park and much more. You may also want to see Downtown La Mesa, an 8 minute drive where there are restaurants, bars, antique shops and more to explore.

The cottage features full amenities that include: Tempurpedic™ queen-size bed. Wi-Fi . Cable HDTV, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, wet bar, coffee maker, toaster, and iron. Window seat for sitting, reading or lounging. Private entrance and patio connecting to a courtyard and Japanese garden. Spacious bathroom with 12 foot high tiled shower. French doors open to a private sitting area. If the days are booked in the cottage we might have an opening at, Mikes House and Garden.

Stay in classic, historic California Hacienda style! A complete, self-contained apartment--your casita--within our beautiful, historic Monterey Spanish Revival hacienda home, situated on a half acre. The apartment has a separate, private entrance and includes a sunlit living/dining room opening on to a large swimming pool; a small kitchenette; and a private bedroom and bathroom down your own hallway. The suite is tastefully furnished consistently with the historic Spanish architecture.

Our professionally cleaned Studio Guest House comes complete with kitchenette, dining and sitting area, and a Sealy Posturepedic cal king bed.  At 360 square feet, the guesthouse is attached to our main house where we live and has a private entrance with self-check in and no shared access. It's the perfect place to wind down from your days adventure; conveniently located near SDSU in a safe, quiet family neighborhood. All San Diego attractions are only a short drive away.

We may not be on the beach, but we're pretty darn close! Located in San Diego's Encanto neighborhood, this modern and private suite is a great spot for vacationers, workcationers, or anyone looking to experience the city like a local. While a car is mandatory to see all that San Diego has to offer, we are very close to a trolly that can get you downtown and adjacent areas. Introducing our itsy bitsy studio, where small is not only beautiful but also a trove of comfort and ingenuity. While it may lack extravagant features, it does offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Traveler beware this is a basic regular ol’ bland neighborhood (nothing to do walking distance) I do have gr8 news is, we are at close proximity (1 mile) to the freeway allowing for easy access and seamless exploration of all San Diego has to offer.
