Hansel: a gift. This charming Victorian cottage, built around 1860 by a local merchant, offers very comfortable accommodation in a quiet, central location in Lerwick. Situated in a secluded lane, the cottage provides a snug hideaway. We provide a welcome pack of local produce, locally made toileteries and a small library of books, and a basket of wood and peat for the stove. Parking is available nearby. There is a private south-west facing garden with shed. Garden furniture and BBQ included.

It has the latest air to air heating and air con. We are very lucky to have a hot spot for otter sighting on our door step just a short walk down the field. The sea views and coastal walks makes this an ideal tranquil location.

There's a well equipped kitchen with a pully for drying clothes and also a good size living room. Mavine Cottage is a great base from which to explore all Shetland has to offer.

Small pets are welcome, as long as they are house trained, and you tidy up after them.

You will have access to our own waterfront & jetty so if you have a kayak or small boat you're welcome to use the facility, the garage can be used for the drying area.
