Kawakawa Hut

A small but special little place tucked neatly between rolling hills. Kawakawa Hut provides a simple but comfy getaway for two in a beautiful countryside. Close by lies the vegetable garden, and friendly cows graze just over the fence. Further out over surrounding farmland you can see Tongariros snow capped mountains in the distance, so sit back and enjoy. Nestled in the peaceful area of the Botanical gardens is our place to rest and recharge your mind and spirit. Our retreat is opposite the vast reserve surrounding you with bird song and walks into the lush New Zealand native bush. We have a secluded courtyard to sit and contemplate whilst having a glass of wine and reading magazines from our selection. Enjoy an easy bike to town or "The Lions Walk" on the lakefront on our electric bikes, a super way to see the sights and come home smiling.

The Cabin - Fantail Grove, Hamurana, Rotorua.

The Cabin is located at Hamurana, in a 2 acre garden setting 350m from Lake Rotorua. Located 120 m from the owners house and is completely private. All around are Sugar Maples with ferns and native plants underneath which attract the fantails. Purpose built and architecturally designed in 2019 as a holiday retreat using passive home guidelines. The cabin is a 15 minute drive from Rotorua CBD, close to all tourist attractions while allowing you the peace and quiet of a luxury retreat.

The Shepherd's Hut

Take a breath of fresh air at our peaceful and rustic country getaway. At our stunning Maungatautari hut, you'll feel a million miles away from anywhere, while being only minutes from local international sporting venues, Takapoto Estate and Karapiro Domain. Only 20mins drive from Cambridge. Our delightful cabin offers the best of country life with your very own private deck, hot tub and Queen-sized bed. Basic kitchen facilities, TV and bathroom are all provided. What more could you want?

Dreamy sunsets over Lake Taupo & Ruapehu

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

Semi detached sunny compact studio joined to main dwelling by deck located on our lifestyle section. Studio has a deck divided from the main dwelling by a screen for privacy. Private entrance/lock box. Kitchenette, continental breakfast provisions on first morning supplied - microwave available (no stove top or oven) . Samsung Smart TV (Freeview TVNZ+ etc), you will require your own subscription for streaming services. Off street park. You will need a car as there is no public transport.

We are located 11 minutes to Otorohanga where you will find numerous Cafes, Restaurants and eating places. Also the Kiwi House is worth a look along with the Sir Edmund Hilary walkway. Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, Black Water Rafting and the Ruakuri Bush Walk is a short 20 minute drive away.

A five minute drive or a stroll along the lakefront will get you into town. We’re a few minutes walk from the Botanical Gardens and the lakefront :-)
