The house is lovely, with a wonderful view. The bedrooms are roomy and the bed that we slept in was very comfortable with nice sheets. The bathroom was stocked with everything you might need. The location is a bit out in the country, but was only about 10 minutes from the family we were visiting and worth the drive for us. The owners, or at least Dana, who is the only one I spoke to, were friendly and helpful.
But, the listing says it is a whole house, but is actually just the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. The set-up works well to give visitors privacy, since it is kind of a loft situation, but it is not the whole house, since the owners live in the home and were there when we stayed. There is a code lock for the front door and we were able to "check in" early in the day without needing to meet the owners for a key, so we thought we had the house to ourselves. But when we returned to get settled for the night the owners were there. As I say, they were very nice, but we felt like we needed to keep ourselves and our kids upstairs and quiet since the owners were downstairs in bed.
Also, the house is listed as a "passive solar" house and it might be for that reason that the rooms were quite warm. There are fans in the rooms and one room at least (I didn't check the other room) had large windows we were able to open to let in a breeze, but there didn't appear to be any air conditioning, and none was offered when I said the rooms were warm.
Finally, the upstairs is accessed by a spiral staircase. It's really neat, but could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues or for small children.
Like I said, the house is lovely, and the owners seem nice and left us to ourselves, but the listing needs to be updated for accuracy.
