Night as a nomad!
The Nomad exhibition focuses on the nomadic way of life, whether it be a choice or necessity.
Seven caravans, temporary dwellings or experimental dwellings in the DEPO2015 courtyard are designed not only to present design and art, but also to sleep for the public.
From 15 June to 31 October 2017
The accompanying program can be found at DEPO2015
this place: “France” House (Tricolour)
Architect Vojtěch Valda designs so called Pin-Up Houses, which are simply and cheaply constructed houses. You buy a project with detailed instructions and material and you build the house like a puzzle. The project is particularly successful in the United States, where the architect goes under the pseudonym of Joshua Woodsman.
The Tricolour House, which Vojta Valda has lent us for our Nomads exhibition, is a prototype based on his long-term experience with designing small houses. It costs 29,900 CZK and three people can assemble it in three hours. The house is composed of 21 individual panels; it has an area of 7 square metres, and is cosy and practical. A very classic exterior with a saddle roof and windows is off-set by its colour, which reflects the French tricolour – blue, white and red. The blue part of the house, separated by multi-functional shelves, serves as a bedroom and a place to relax. Psychologically, blue is the most suitable colour for a happy night's sleep. The white part of the house with a table and chairs is the residential area, which is used mainly during the day. In the red part there is a kitchen, wood stove and heating.
Parking can be in the area or easier outsite of DEPO2015 - both is safe
Showers, toilets and basic kitchen are inside the house 24/7
