Isania and Julio are extremely welcoming and responsive. They were happy to help out with any question and they have many good tips for what to see on Ometepe. The house has all the basics you might need and the beach is right across the street - less than 2 minutes walk. I high…
Isania & Julio have a wonderful place on the beach. It is on a more tranquil part of Ometepe. There are Restaurants and fruit/veggie stands all close by in walking distance. Julio is extremely accommodating when setting up activity and just general knowledge on all things Ometepe…
Isania and Julio are great hosts. The house is clean and in very nice condition and has a good central location right across the street from the beach (Santa Cruz). They arranged for transport for us to and from the ferry and also had rental motorcycles brought right to the door …
We were travelling with our two kids, aged 3 and 5, which made the location across from the sandy beach ideal. The house is clean, safe and well-equipped for cooking at home, and there are several pulperias within walking distance to buy fruit, veggies and basic food items. The f…

Thank you for choosing to support our local sustainable tourism efforts ! We really appreciate your thoughtful comments and your interest in our small local school. Development on Ometepe Island has really affected the local community owned and operated water system so repairs were being completed up on the challenging terrain of Volcano Maderas - we all have worked on the system to improve it. We are purchasing a water tank and will construct an elevated platform so we will have a back up system at our Beach House by next month and for your next visit. Enjoy your travels in Nicaragua !
The positive aspect to this house is it’s location on Santo Domingo beach, with its views of the two volcanos. The host was helpful and quick to respond. What was not clearly identified was that there was no indication in the listing that water service was cut daily from 7am to 5…

The tile floors were installed many years ago and DO NOT leave stains on feet or cloth since they are sealed and we wash the floors regularly! We noticed that your grand-daughter left her footprints on our newly painted walls and it was just dirt not red stains - which was easily washed off but not very respectful. Our water was NOT cut off everyday from 7am to 5pm....based on your statement you were not at the Beach House since you were hiking on Volcano Maderas !! We do not appreciate your mis-information regarding the water system here. IT is true there were repairs being done on the locally owned community run water system during your 3 nights stay here and for a few hours each day the water was cut off but we have always supplied buckets full of water for use by guests during these periods. Plus there is a water filtron bucket with filtered mineral spring water for drinking. Travelers in developing countries understand about water and electrical outages and have never been "outraged" or disrespectful. The development in our area by many foreigners connecting to our locally owned and operated water system has affected our water planning/usage. Many foreigners hook up to the system as a "house" but later make a tourist development for 60+ guests and even one eco-lodge has an illegal swimming pool ...some have even illegally hooked up to the main water lines which is very destructive to local families on the water lines. Foreigners can easily afford a large water tank and some of the eco-lodges have multiple massive water tanks which also affects the neighbors' water down the line. We are planning to purchase and install a water tank but it is a very large expense....for a local island family. Our Beach House is a typical style and we are very clear about what we offer and do not offer as travelers can see by the photos and the price which is extremely economical for a family. We only quote in US dollars so cannot comment on the exchange rate you paid to airbnb who also add fees to your costs and take fees from us as well. YOU were always given the option to find your own guide or take your family of 4 and go alone to the lookout but it can be confusing and travelers have gotten lost and fallen and twisted an ankle or worse on the "well groomed" trail on Volcano Maderas where there are coral snakes too ! Having a guide is a benefit to avoid issues and perhaps learn something new about the tropical flora and fauna or life here as you noticed the water tubes which were installed by local people working for months to bring water to the communities. We offer to arrange taxis, bike and scooter/motorcycle/ATV rentals, horseback rides and guiding as an extra service and luckily our other guests have all made positive realistic comments about our Beach House, hospitality and extra services.
We are an Island family and welcome you to our place at Isania's Beach House located on the paved Main Road at the entrance to the Santa Cruz Beach Community on the Isthmus between 2 volcanoes on Ometepe Island . We live with my mother in her home just 2 doors away. My family inc…
