The apartment was a great base for our visit to Bergen, we stayed two nights and the place was very homely, comfortable and clean. The apartment is very close to the cable car for mount Ulriken, however, we decided to walk up instead. It took about an hour and half for us to hike up, and it was really doable but quite a steep, rocky ascent in places. The weather wasn't great but views were worth it at the top!
The wifi connection was very good which meant we could look things up online to plan our trip, although Marius also offered a lot of help if we wanted it. He picked us up from the airport for a small fee, which was great as it meant we didn't need to find the apartment ourselves. Although public transport looked like an easy option too.
We walked from Marius' place into town, it took about half an hour to get to the harbour at an easy pace. The route was easy, just head down hill from the apartment and walk along the waterside. when you get to the arena area , just walk straight on instead of following the lake round, this will take you through an industrial looking area but you will be in town a few minutes after that.
The bus was easy too and the stop close by, and cost 35 K per adult and tickets can be bought via a machine at the bus stop. If you buy tickets on board it costs a little more.
Bergen was a great place to visit, and it was nice to have such a lovely apartment to stay in whilst we were there, rather than being in an overpriced touristy hotel! Thanks for a great stay Marius, we highly recommend his apartment.
