Pascal was very disorganised with letting us know how to get to the property/where it even was. We tried to get a taxi from the ferry to the location on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps that the reservation email had sent me, but it was incorrect (and we weren't given the actual street address, only a set of coordinates). We had to go to a nearby restaurant to get internet to get in touch with Pascal so he could come find us and bring us to the apartment. The apartment was very practical, clean etc., and the aircon was great in the bedroom (though it did not reach the rest of the place). Also the wifi was good. The location was terrible though - I guess I didn't read the listing clearly enough (maybe), but it was ages from anything - restaurants, transport etc. Pascal had two bikes we could use which was helpful, but on the last morning we went to use them to go get breakfast and one of them was gone. Apparently his mother had taken it.
Also, on our last morning, Pascal's mother came to the door and warned us that we should not have left the balcony door open because the neighbourhood was very unsafe. If this was a major issue we should have been warned at the start of our stay (though we figured this and used our pacsafe for all our valuables, which seemed more secure than even bothering locking the doors...). Also it turns out she'd come into the apartment while we were sleeping to lock it herself. I guess this was nice of her, but I felt like our privacy had been invaded.
Also Pascal gave us a recommendation of a hotel on the south end of the island where we should have drinks and watch the sunset. We took his advice and got a taxi there, but when we arrived it was just a regular hotel with no bar or restaurant or anything. We walked through the hotel to the balcony overlooking the ocean, which was pretty, but awkward because there were guests swimming in the pool etc.
The apartment itself was fine though, just a shame about the location. Also very expensive for what it was. I would definitely recommend staying somewhere in Centro instead.
