If you are looking for a charming old country house near Mt Greylock or Williamstown with lots of bedrooms, a lovely dining -living room space and a beautiful secluded waterfall this is a great find. We are five old guys who hike together annually in September-October. This is year 19 for us. We have stayed at a bunch of Airbnb sites in the Adirondacks and Berkshires. This one was the best yet . It offered a warm comfortable place for hanging out, telling stories and cooking together.

FANTASTIC hosts, and beautiful property! Spent my birthday weekend here with some friends, had an amazing time. The house is very cozy and nautical themed. Woods and water flowing in the backyard. Loved it all. Definitely coming back.

Our group of friends loved our stay. It was clean, quiet, and cozy. Definitely bring bug spray for walking around the woods out back, and it can get chilly at night.

The Gorge House is a unique and somewhat eccentric house in a location that one hears the flow of a rushing stream. The house was clean and tidy with plenty of room for for 6 people. This more than 100 year old formally guest house shows a history of bringing it into modern usage. Our only complaint would be the dampness in the lower level that was remedied by the dehumidifier. There are many interesting features such as fireplace mantels and hand hewn beams in a location that feels like you're tucked into the woods while being close to the road. Plenty of books and games if you left yours at home and the wifi worked very well for our devices. We were welcomed by the caretaker who was accessible and helpful. If you like plain vanilla box living this wouldn't be for you but if you like a peak into history and the visit to a home that was lived in by a family I'd give it a try. We had a good 3 day visit.

The house is great. Old rustic New England home with a wonderful creek running through the property. The rooms are very spacious. The lower floor with the kitchen, dinning room, and living room had plenty of space for our 5 adults. The bathrooms are a bit small, but with this old of a house, that is expected. If we are in need of a place to stay again, we will book this house.

I am a working musician, composer and journalist in Portland, Oregon. I do a bit of travel and have rented our family home, the Berkshire Gorge House, on a short term basis since 2011.
