You are in the region of the Chestnut Tree (Pays du Chataignier)! An ideal situation from which you can discover all that this hidden region has to offer. Far from mass- tourism and close to the Dordogne and Vezere Valleys.
This holiday-home is deep into the countryside, part of a typically Perigordine stone house. It is next to a forest, high up in the hills and at the end of a no-through-road, making the site immensely peaceful.
There is one large bedroom (40m2) to cater for between 2 and 4 people. A separate bathroom (20m2) and toilet, separate entrance to the gite on ground floor and parking spaces.
There are 1 double bed (160cm) and 3 single beds in the same room.
Around Prats du Perigord
Lots of signposted walks, Nordic walking with exercise posts, all close to the house.
In the nearest village Villefranche du Perigord, there are diverse activities such as fishing and swimming. You can also find within proximity an 18 hole golf course, tennis, river beaches, canoeing, bicycle hire, horse-riding clubs, hot-air balloons and accrobranche activities. There is the largest chestnut tree in Europe a short walk from the house.
The Dordogne region of France has the highest density of chateaux, manors and noble homes. You can explore the magnificent Chateaux at Beynac, Castelnaud, Milandes and Commarque, among others.
There are also numerous caves (grouffres and grottes), such as the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, Font de Gaume, Grotte de Bara Bahau. There is the Grand Roc at Les Eyzies and the museum, Lascaux II.
The closest bastide villages to the house have been awarded ‘one of the most beautiful villages if France’, such as Belves (15km), Monpazier (15km), Domme (30km), La Roque Gageac (30 km) and Sarlat (40km).
