Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Kawakawa Hut

A small but special little place tucked neatly between rolling hills. Kawakawa Hut provides a simple but comfy getaway for two in a beautiful countryside. Close by lies the vegetable garden, and friendly cows graze just over the fence. Further out over surrounding farmland you can see Tongariros snow capped mountains in the distance, so sit back and enjoy. Please note this is an unserviced holiday home. You will Need to supply your own linen and towels etc. Our wonderful bach full of character, is an old mill house which belonged to the local timber mill from the 1940-50s. It then spent several years as the Tauranga ski club, before being lovingly restored into a groovy bach full of rustic charm. It's the perfect place to getaway and relax, or to use as a base after your high octane adventures around the Central Plateau.

Cosy in the Centre of Ohakune

This one bedroom apartment is on the ground floor of our family home (we live on the 2nd and 3rd floors). It is in the middle of Ohakune, halfway between Turoa Junction and Ohakune centre. They're a walks close by, Turoa is 20 minutes drive away and we have a list of walks that are nearby and suit a range of people. Parking is right in front of the apartment as per the photos in the listing. Our house manual also has a list of the best spots in Ohakune to check out.
