This apartment was absolutely perfect for our romantic getaway! The location of the apartment is perfect. We were able to park our car and walk to restaurants and downtown. The apartment included anything we could have possibly needed and much more. Hopefully we can make this an annual trip to stay at Ash's on The River. We had a great time and it was a perfect location for enjoying Fredericksburg. The detailed information we got from Ash and Sara before we showed up made it easy getting in and out. Perfect amount of space and a nice yard/porches. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a nicely appointed flat with all the charm of old town. It is close to all the attractions and a great walking trail that takes you along the river and up the canal to battle sights. The deck and garden are great for relaxing. It is very clean and comfortable. The host provided a great and extensive list of how things worked and where to find everything needed for an enjoyable stay. I would definitely return.

This was a great apt. right across from Old Mill Park!!! We enjoyed walking the dogs and walking the trails everyday. There is a side deck where you can kick back and enjoy a glass of wine. The yard was fenced in which was great for my dogs. I would recommend taking the trolley ride downtown. We learned so much about Fredericksburg that we would have never known. The historical homes were beautiful. This is the place to stay that affords comfort and everything you need!!!

It was lovely! I spent two nights here. I had access to everything I love about fredericksburg! It's only a fifteen minute walk to downtown! A paradise for those who love to walk because of the trail that is literally right across the street. It's a cozy and charming apartment that I would love to stay at again.

We had a lovely stay at Christine's carriage house. The little apartment is beautifully furnished and has everything to make one feel right at home. Christine was a wonderfully accommodating host, and we are very grateful to have chosen her property for our stay in Fredericksburg. We were able to walk to our favorite restaurant (Sunken Well Tavern) and enjoy the quaint surrounding neighborhood. We would most definitely stay at Christine's again when passing through the area!

This was my first Airbnb experience and it gets two thumbs up! This is a great place to stay--the little apartment is nicely furnished and has enough to make one feel right at home. Christine (and Elizabeth) were wonderfully accommodating during my extended stay and I appreciated their responsiveness. I enjoyed seeing the behind-the-scenes reality of the carriage business. I do have a sensitive nose, spent the summer there and I barely noticed any unpleasant odors from the horses. The apartment is comfortable and is about a 15-20 minute walk to Mary Washington University, a 10 minute walk to downtown Fredericksburg, and a few blocks from the historical Fredericksburg battlefield. Thank you, Christine, for a very nice experience!

The Olde Towne Carriage House apartment is just as it is described in the listing and the photos are accurate. The apartment is bright and spacious, with ample room for a family. The second bedroom has two single beds (one a futon style sofa in black that is pictured). Christine is a great host, but as she notes, she does not live here. She is happy to arrange access at any time and supplies a simple breakfast for short stays. The main bed is comfortable and the bathroom is incredibly well stocked. We really enjoyed being so close to the train station, the off-street parking, and the incredible horses that are occasionally in the paddock. The apartment is decorated in a homey, horsy theme.

Review was accurate and this was a great place to rest and see the civil war sites. The unit was clean and very well provisioned. The Fredericksburg battle park is within easy walking distance and the other three key battle sites are within an easy drive. We hit all four in one day and, while we could have done more, we didn't feel short-changed. A couple of nice bars and restaurants are also within walking distance or very short drives. I can't imagine a better place for 2-4 people to hang their hat and see some of the best civil war sites anywhere.

The apartment was clean and attractive. It had everything we required. It was very convenient to downtown Fredericksburg and everything we wanted to see. The fridge was stocked with eggs, bacon, bagels, butter, etc. which was very thoughtful. Be aware that the outside stairs to the apartment are very steep and long; it didn't bother us much, but getting luggage up might be a problem. We talked to Christine on the phone but didn't get to meet her; however, she was only a phone call away had we needed her. We would certainly stay here again.

The apartment was as described. Communication with the owner could have been better. I messaged her in the morning prior to our driving up from South Carolina and did not receive a response until about 3:30pmish, but it was not an answer to my question, it was instructions on where they had left the keys to enter the apartment. Location was great, right near the Battlefield and breakfast muffins were a wonderful thing in the morning. Very clean and quiet space.

My first experience with Airbnb was great thanks to Inez! She is very warm and welcoming, not to mention knowledgeable. The house is in a great location! It is walking distance to food, drinks and right at the heart of US history!

The host was just a few shades shy of being blatantly rude. She made a comment about the body types of my fiance and I being incompatible with her Murphy bed and cautioned that we needed to not "stress" the bed. She also left expired food (several years expired) "for us" and after questioning her about the food she said the previous tenants left it there, not her; as you can imagine that brought into question the thoroughness of her cleaning between guests. She wasn't particularly friendly with our local point of contact when she corresponded with her regarding our stay, and she was never clear with instructions on where to park but was very abrasive when addressing us that we parked somewhere we shouldn't have. We could also very distinctly smell the odors from each meal that was cooked in the attached housing, which at times was unpleasant. While the apartment itself wasn't too awful (but definitely not great), the hospitality (or total lack-there-of) made for an uncomfortable stay and left us with a negative experience.

Inez was very warm and welcoming. She was easy to communicate with before arrival and during our stay. We really appreciated some essentials that she provided! The location is great - close to the Fredericksburg battlefield visitors center and within easy distance of downtown. This was a great place to crash for a couple of nights while we were in town for a wedding.

The studio is really cozy, and the patio is great for hanging out. There's a gorgeous garden out back!

Great place! Even though it's a small apartment, this space is used really well. Like the previous commenter said it is like a New York City apartment and how well the space is used. You are in a bike friendly spot and you're not far from downtown or the battlefield. Would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at what we like to call the “Bird House” was a relaxing holiday! (The living room features a beautiful hand-painted mural with birds and trees.) Connie greeted us enthusiastically on our arrival and always seemed to be looking for ways to help us out — coupons for local restaurants, extra pods for the Keurig, and even a makeshift (yet effective!) drain repair when one of us wanted to use the tub for a bath. The living area was cozy and comfortable; we felt right at home. While the basement apartment was a wee bit on the chilly side, we were provided with plenty of warm blankets, and there was an extra heater. Noise from upstairs was minor, but if you're a light sleeper, you may want to bring earplugs. During our stay major renovations were going on in the backyard, but generally they were unobtrusive. We would happily have stayed longer and are looking forward to a return visit!

Connie provided us with some fruits and snacks on the day that we arrived. The home was well equipped with all the necessities and I would definitely stay at their place in the future. This was the perfect place for us to stay! We were able to bring our dog and leave her in Connie's wonderful hands while we looked for places to live during the day. One night, we were late getting back and Connie was great in making sure that our dog got fed and crated up for the night. We are super happy about our stay!

I (Megan) was traveling with my mother-in-law who has some mobility issues and their place was easy to get in and out of which made our lives so much better especially after traveling all day from CT. Connie sent us video messages to make sure our arrival and entry directions were totally understood. And then she ended up being right there when we arrived and showed us in personally. Connie made us feel very welcome and taken care of. She and her family had gone strawberry picking that day and left us a bowl with fresh berries along with a personalized welcome note. It was all very sweet. The whole apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the hand painted mural on the wall in the living room area was lovely. Connie also communicated promptly with Bill while he managed finding us a place to stay along our route. Connie really helped us make this trek down the east coast very manageable. We highly recommend choosing Bill and Connie's place for your stay in this area. Thank you for such a great stop over in our travels.

This place is an amazing GEM!!! Pristine clean, newer - so carpet and furnishings are in great shape, much larger, yet comfy than perhaps the pictures portray. Sits off the main Hwy, yet tucked away in a quiet, very safe area, and close to all your needs (behind Wal-Mart, restaurants). Has everything you need, for an awesome price, I was very impressed!

I stayed for 1 month and I do not have any compliant, indeed I already loved this place... easy access, there is a lot of facilities near to this place (Walmart, malls, Target, Starbucks, Panera...) unfortunately, the trip ended but I am sure that if I need to go back to Fredericksburg I will try to stay in the same place....

This is not your typical AirB&B. It is apartment complex on the outskirts of Fredricksburg. It was very comfortable unit with great bed and pillows. Kitchen has stove top, oven, microwave, fridge and crockery and cutlery for 2. The living space was great and very comfortable and the entire unit was clean and a pleasure to spend time in. All civil war sites are an easy drive away as was the pretty historic downtown area of Fredricksburg (about 10-15 minutes). There is a Walmart across the road which made self catering a breeze. John was very easy to communicate with and gave me a choice of rooms which was appreciated, also very flexible with checkin. If you are visiting this area the accommodation is great value and makes for very easy living.

Enjoyed our stay. Appreciated proximity to Old Town & happened upon a true gem on our way from this airbnb to Old Town-Amy's Cafe in Falmouth; fabulous food and staff. Really appreciated kitchen set up for breakfasts and evening snacking. Suite was HUGE and loved King bed.

My husband and I spent a brief weekend getaway in Fredericksburg, and this was the perfect place to relax and enjoy ourselves! Other reviewers are correct in that the place is much more spacious than the pictures can capture. Janet and her husband Ray were very flexible in our arrival, even with I-95 traffic, and took the time to show us how things in the apartment (coffee maker and TV with several remotes) worked. The welcome treats were a really wonderful touch too. The location is quiet (in a neighborhood) and perfect for unwinding and getting a good night's sleep. Check-out was easy. Can't say enough good things about this place - thank you Janet and we hope to be back!

Great place! Super clean, everything you might need. The apartment is actually LARGER than the pictures show. They were so nice and fun to talk to. They left treats for us and went out of their way to make our visit special. The hot tub was just what we needed. We will stay here, and only here, next trip to F'burg. If you are reading this, you definitely want to book.

Wow, this accommodation really blew our minds. The finishes were fantastic and everything was new and modern and beautiful from top to bottom. The layout was great, there was plenty of usable space, and the huge shower was amazing. There was TONS of storage too, which was a huge plus as we definitely didn't travel light. Ron was very kind and was quick to help us whenever we had any questions or needed anything, and it was pretty impressive that he was continuing to improve the already great property while we still there by adding additional outdoor lighting, providing a dolly for our excessive luggage, etc. - that was just too cool. We would HIGHLY recommend this accommodation! The family wants to establish this as the best B&B location in Fredericksburg, and I would say they are well on their way!

We were driving to Miami from NJ and got tired on the highway so after a quick search we found Barbara's home and got a response even tho it was very late at night. We didn't arrive until almost 1am and Barbara was very kind and greeted us with a smile. This apartment is so clean and I will say better then a 5-Star hotel. You simply can't go wrong. The shower head is incredible, there are two bed options firm/plush and the kitchen is supplied with coffee and pancake necessities. There is nothing left to improve here, this stay was perfect and felt like home.

Lovely accomidations in a beautiful area!! The veiw from the porch was amazing! The lodgings were clean and cozy. The beds were very comforable and the kitchen had a variety of spices and olive oil and soy sauce. And a bottle of wine :) We were able 2 take daytime hikes by the water and through the forest and evening strolls around the lovely community. We had a great time!!

Everything was super - This Is the downstairs of a home. Lots of light - amazing deck. Ben had things like olive oil/ some butter and a bottle of wine! Nice bedding and beds-one of the rooms is huge. Not a lot of 'living area' but, if the weather is nice the deck makes up for it. The last 1.5 miles driving in is very windy. The walk down to the dock is super steep- great exercise coming back up.

Jeff was so welcoming and had a bottle of wine as we arrived. Kitchen was super clean with all I needed to make a meal. The view is the main attraction. Amazing bird watching on a private deck.

One of the best places we have lived at on Airbnb. The apartment looks just like in the pictures, if not better. It is just as described, a calming and beautiful space. You feel the love, personal care and attention as soon as you walk in. The apartment is gorgeously furnished and has all the amenities that you can think of. The location is scenic and a short drive from DC. Joseph and Isabel are extremely friendly and nice. They were really good at communicating, were flexible with check-in and Joseph stayed up to show us around. They made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Isabel and Joseph's place was great and perfect for our visit! I reserved their place for my fiancé and I while I was visiting him for his commissioning ceremony for the marine corps. It was close to base and also close to any restaurants, grocery stores, and a couple gyms. We were also close enough to travel to Fredericksburg and Alexandria. It was truly a home away from home and they do a great job making it feel that way. Both hosts were very easy to contact and made our stay so nice with even the little touches like toothpaste! This was our 2nd time staying here. They are truly like neighbors. Our host were incredibly easy-going and welcoming. There were fresh flowers when we arrived. Marine Corps colors to be specific, which was perfect since I was in town for graduation! There was an enormous fresh fruit bowl that my husband devoured. When we stay here, it feels like home.

When I first started looking in the Stafford area for a weekend rendezvous with my wife, who is currently at Marine Corps OCS, I began by looking at hotels in the area that would accommodate dogs. We were limited, but it opened my eyes to try airbnb for the first time, and I was IMPRESSED! Jennifer and Cynthia proved to be incredible hosts and have really set the bar high for our next airbnb stay! I initially picked this location based on price and location. Communication was fantastic and constant throughout our stay. Not being from VA, I obviously do not know the area all that well, and they were more than willing to provide insight and recommendations. As for the amenities, I tried my best to take advantage of all of them! All of the little things that made life easier on all (3) of us! From the gated community, which really gives you a sense of security, to the fully fenced in backyard where we were able to let our dog run while enjoying coffee and a water view, which is literally right in the back yard! Other things, that really set this place apart? I am a bit of a clean nut, and I must say that everything was in order and better than expected! Plenty of coffee (with options), a Jacuzzi tub (which I could hardly get my wife out of!), fast WiFi, computer with printer, dog bowls, and dog beds (YES, 2!) set out for our little rescue! AWESOME! Another thing, which was a great help, we were able to do laundry (3 loads) and I was able to iron (Rowenta iron & board with starch) some things for my resting wife who returned to OCS after our stay on Sunday evening feeling refreshed. This apartment is as advertised, an “in-law suite” located over a two-car garage. That being said, it was incredibly quiet, if they did go in and out of the garage, I didn’t hear them at all, and my wife was never disturbed. Jennifer and Cynthia also allowed us to check-in early, at 11 am on Saturday and we were able to stay until after 5 on Sunday. What a relief! What we would have done Sunday afternoon with our dog, had we stayed at a hotel? Who knows? Luckily, it was one thing we didn’t have to worry about! We will definitely be back, and I am hopeful that there will be a time when we will be able to stay longer than just one night in the near future! Thank you for making our first airbnb stay a memorable/fantastic experience! Oh, and they also have a military discount, I failed to mention that I am a veteran and my wife was at OCS when making our reservations, but they actually gave us money back when we checked-out! Money back? Who does that?? I cannot say enough good things about these two lovely ladies! Thank you again!

Struggling with words isn't a typical thing for me, but in this case, I'm struggling. I'm not sure I can adequately convey just how absolutely wonderful Jenn and Jax are as hosts, and as humans. They have thought of EVERYTHING you could possibly need, and the home is lovely and peaceful and sparkly clean. I lost count of the number of times we exclaimed, "let's just move in!" Jenn and Jax were so welcoming, even of our two dogs, and it immediately felt like home in the best possible sense. The apartment is bright and comfortable, with a great view of the backyard and water. The bed is so comfy I asked what brand it is, because now we need one. There are plenty of towels and toiletries and kitchen essentials, a guidebook with all the details you need to know (including the weather forecast!), and everything is labeled so things are easy to find. In the bathroom you'll find a huge jacuzzi tub, and in the bedroom there's a cozy electric fireplace. Most importantly, there is plenty of coffee! Our dogs had a fun romp in the spacious backyard, and I left with some delicious homegrown tomatoes pulled straight from the vine. Our experience was the perfect mix of quiet retreat from the city and meeting delightful new people I would now call friends. We can't wait to go back! Thank you, Jenn and Jax!

My son was in Stafford for a Championship swim meet. His times were through the roof! I'm sure it was the comfortable bed and peaceful, quiet surroundings at Jax and Jenn's. They are wonderful, nurturing hosts!

We could not have imagined a better first Airbnb experience. We recently moved from Southern California to Philadelphia and in less than 3 weeks my husband left to VA for work for 3+ months. Moving so often is mentally exhausting. It was incredibly nice to arrive at Jax and Jenn's and feel at home. They had a bottle of wine waiting, fresh flowers, fruit and snacks as well as everything you could find yourself needing. My husband and I were able to cook bacon wrapped barramundi (his first home cooked meal in weeks) and a delicious breakfast the next morning! They provided everything you find yourself needing in a kitchen. Netflix kept us entertained while it poured and even our Doberman, Diesel loved it. He also felt at home and that was such a relief compared to the 6 hotels we stayed in while driving across country. We will definitely be back in a few weeks. You are amazing host and thank you for making our family feel at home when sometimes our new home doesn't quite feel that way just yet.

This property on a beautiful, quiet cul-de-sac in Stafford, VA is well off the beaten path yet extremely close to anything we had need of. Jay greeted me at the front door with brief answers to our questions and then allowed us to make his lovely suite below our very own home away from home . My son and I were there to attend my youngest son’s graduation from Marine Embassy Guard training on the Quantico base nearby. It was THE PERFECT SPOT for our family to visit and reconnect. I was surprised to learn Jay had even purchased a cot for my Marine to join us on his few days leave before shipping out. Their beautiful two-story white house w/ shutters and American Flag waving over immaculate landscaped yard told me I was in for a real treat in my 5 day visit, and it did not disappoint. Walking thru the gate into backyard area was so peaceful. The surrounding environment, colorful flowers, birds singing, immediately set my heart and mind at ease after a long day’s travel. And how refreshing being delivered from the outdoor rising heat levels into an exceptionally cool apartment, with fresh warm brownies on the table to greet us to boot! I have low back trouble and was delighted to find the bed was one of the best mattresses I’ve slept on in all my travels. The ceiling fan helped sooth me to sleep as well, and the window looking out to more beautiful flowers and perfectly landscaped yards. The couch made for a great place to sleep, with all sheets and blankets provided for as well. The place was exceptionally clean. You can tell plenty of thought has gone into making all their guests feel welcome and tended to. In summation here are a few bullet points I’d hate to overlook: •Great Spot for Quantico families •No cleaning fee? Unheard of. So thankful. We tried to leave it in great shape as well. •Offer of 1 night minimum stay and flexible cancellation is equally rare for most airbnb. This reflects an accommodating nature on host’s part. •Huge backyard with outdoor table, chairs and umbrella. •Suite is much roomier than pictures suggest. Very light with great layout •Kitchen area met all our needs. All kitchen ware provided. Basket at bottom of stairs for them to retrieve when we were out made for great arrangement for fresh towels, dishes, etc. •Plenty of coffee for Kurig and large refrigerator for our leftovers and cold cuts •Backyard entry into glass doors felt very private and secure. And plenty of parking provided in front. Jay’s property and great hosting gets A+ on all counts from this family. We couldn’t have asked for a better host, location, cleanliness, safety, or value. Jay was a great host from the moment we arrived at his home. The listing was exactly as advertised and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. I would highly recommend this airbnb for anyone looking for a spacious and clean space and will be looking forward to visiting again on future trips to Virginia.

Jay's place was exquisite! The bedroom, bathroom & living area were so clean and well put-together. We unfortunately didn't arrive until 1am but Jay stayed up to make sure we arrived safely. I highly recommend Jay's place and will look to stay here again when in the area!

Jay was very accommodating to our arrival time and the suite was private, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

This place was amazing. It was the perfect place/location if you are looking to visit loved ones at Quantico. Not only was it close but I had an infant with me and they were more than accommodating by providing a few baby toys and high chair and crib all while endured the baby crying. The pictures do not do this place justice. It was extremely clean and inviting. The bed was super comfortable and the couch was comfy and perfect for watching tv. It also had nice walking trails around the house and we were able to get to different restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive depending on traffic lights. Their communication was excellent and I cant say enough about their hospitality. I plan on staying again in the near future and would highly recommend this to anyone!

It was just AMAZING! His wife made cookies (amazing! ) comfortable, homey but sleek! I loved it!
