Velkou hodnotu a spousta zahradního prostoru a možností grilování, pokud ji budete potřebovat :)

  • Když jsme přijeli, Judith nám ukázal vše, co potřebujeme v karavanu a řekl, aby neváhali se zeptat, jestli jsme potřebovali něco. I nemusí mít strach a moje obavy byly zcela neopodstatněné.

Warm and cosy single storey detached barn conversion in the grounds of 18th century, Grade 2 listed former Mill. Set in peaceful West Devon countryside this beautiful, self catering cottage, sleeping 2 is the perfect rural hideaway, yet central for exploring. There are beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, wonderful walks and an amazing range of bird life right outside your window.

The open plan living-room has a reclining sofa so you can put your feet up and watch TV, a DVD or listen to the radio or some CDs, a well designed kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave and dining area with table and chairs. Electric heaters in both the rooms should the evenings be chilly and there is parking right outside the front door so is ideal for people with limited mobility. There is a BBQ and outdoor furniture in the pretty, private cottage garden.
There are several National Trust houses in the area, Buckland Abbey, the former home of Sir Francis Drake, and Cothele in particular is a real favourite with its stunning gardens rolling down to the River Tamar and walks through the woods to the Cornish riverside village of Calstock. There is wonderful walking and riding on nearby Dartmoor and the National Cycle Route 27 is easily accessible. Just over half an hour in the car and you can be on either the North or South Coast so we really are central for all your explorations!

We have a standard single, a double-room and a King Size room for up to 5 guests. We are close Tavistock, Dartmoor, Plymouth and the North Cornwall coast. We cater for singles/couples, and business travellers. We can take and collect guests from inns and restaurants within a 5 mile radius of our home. We keep poultry, and guests may like to collect their own eggs for breakfast when available. Continental breakfast is included or a cooked breakfast available for additional cost.
Guests have a single bed with use of the guest bathroom adjacent to the bedroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, handbasin, bath and loo. Guests have sole use of the sitting room with TV and an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. The wood burners are lit in the autumn and winter months. A selection of bottled beers and wines are available for a suggested donation however we do ask that red wine is not taken upstairs but is consumed in the dining or sitting room areas. We are lucky to have several inns and restaurants nearby that serve good food and your hosts are happy to take and collect guests within a 5 mile radius for a small donation. We have a fairly large garden with places to sit and read, have a coffee or a glass of something. In the summer the lawn is usually set up for garden croquet which guests are welcome to play between themselves or with the hosts. We don’t provide evening meals but guests are welcome to collect a takeaway from town and eat in the dining room or if they wish there is a barbecue that can be lit if required. Continental breakfast is included and provided in the dining room with a toaster and coffee and tea making facilities. Cooked breakfast can be provided by prior arrangement for an additional fee.
We are within a hamlet set in a rural location. There are views from to the east over Dartmoor. Our neighbourhood is friendly and all of our neighbours are well versed with helping each other out when needed. Although being only 2.25 miles from Tavistock we would strongly advise that guests coming to Cherry Tree Cottage either have their own transport or make alternative arrangements before arrival as we are not on a bus route.

The remains of the Norman castle are still there to be explored. A great barn conversion with wonderful views of Dartmoor , fully fitted kitchen with wood burner . the garden is fenced all around making it safe for children and pets with seating and a sun canopy.Great for Dartmoor walkers, amazing country side beautiful surroundings, full of history plus are own national trust Lydford gauge, local pubs ,Farm shop, dog walks, also the granite way bicycle route, plus you can walk onto Dartmoor from the barn.
Our barn has its own small fenced garden, making it safe for small children and dogs. A wood supple for the wood burner. A metal shed ideal for pushchair ,bike etc, storage. Also a bar be que for outside cooking . We have a canopy over the patio doors so even in our good old English weather it is still possible to sit outside and have a drink and take in the amazing dartmoor views, we have advertised our property to sleep up to 4 people, however this reduces down stairs floor space at night when the bed is pulled out. But lovely and cosy in front of the wood burner.

Situated on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, within walking distance of the historic village of Lydford. Surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Devonshire countryside, this beautifully converted 'Shepherdess Hut' boasts all the charm and authenticity of a Shepherd's Hut but with the added bonus of some real home comforts...
Beautifully light and airy, The Shepherdess Hut consists of an open plan living space; a sitting area with wood burner in the middle, a small fitted kitchen to one end and a bedroom alcove to the other. Behind the bedroom area you'll find a little bathroom with loo, sink, fitted shower and heated towel rail. The kitchen has a sink, fridge, Belling cooker and all the pots and pans you'll need if you want to self cater. There are some lovely homely touches throughout; Egyptian cotton bedding, fluffy towels, original art on the walls, two large and comfy vintage leather armchairs in front of the fireplace and a little bookcase holding a range of novels, games, local guide books and maps. With stunning views in every direction, the Hut is also surrounded by it's own private garden with table, chairs and a parasol for alfresco eating or for just watching the sun go down with a glass of wine.
The village of Lydford is 3min drive or a 15 min walk away (over fields, a little wooden bridge and through a small wood). This historic village (once the capital of Dartmoor), has an ancient Castle, a beautiful church, a fabulous pub (the Castle Inn serving great food), and a very well stocked deli farm shop. There are numerous beautiful walks around the area, most notably up on the Moor. As well as plenty of places to ride or indulge in wild swimming. The village is also home to the National Trust's most popular outdoor attraction, Lydford Gorge - a spectacular river walk with waterfalls, incredible views and the infamous Devil's Couldron.

Rustic, romantic retreat. Characterful period property annexe, steeped in history. Idyllic romantic retreat for two, with many hidden areas within the grounds to sit and enjoy a glass of wine, whilst watching the wildlife.
A peaceful, rural retreat within Lee Woods. Stunning country cottage annexe, set within an acre of garden and woodland, on the banks of the river Lew. Ideal for a romantic break. Many hidden areas to sit and enjoy a glass of wine, whilst listening to the soothing flow of the river. Watch the wildlife - deer, badgers and foxes have been spotted within the grounds, and the river has resident kingfishers and herons. Or put on your walking boots, and enjoy the surrounding Devon countryside, via the extensive network of paths and bridleways, leading directly from the cottage. The owners Alan and Diana, bought the property in 2009. Originally two quarrymen's cottages for the nearby manganese quarry (now a lake), it required extensive renovation and rebuilding in parts. Alan spent five years renovating it, using reclaimed products wherever possible. Love-Lee cottage, an annexe to the main house was originally thought to be a scullery and pig sty, but research has uncovered that the 'pig-sty' was in fact a large water tank, which would have held water, pumped up from the river. This has been renovated to provide a cosy, unusual, rustic retreat, with its own private entrance and all the necessary features of modern living to ensure a comfortable stay. The quirky mezzanine bedroom, kitchen, and even the bed itself has been hand crafted with reclaimed wood from the cottage and surrounding area, to offer a unique and characterful space. New for 2019 - Romany caravan (Vardo). Guests have exclusive use of the Romany caravan on the private river bank.
Love-Lee Cottage is set in a tranquil spot, within Lee Woods, West Devon, on the river Lew. The award winning market town of Tavistock is closeby, as is Dartmoor and the Cornish border, so ideally located for exploring Devon and Cornwall. The beaches of North Cornwall are a 45 minute drive away. There are excellent restaurants in nearby Tavistock and Launceston, and various pubs and hotels renowned for good quality food. Leading directly from the cottage is an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways, and nearby Dartmoor also offers ample opportunities for walking and cycling. The Devon Cycle Network (Route 27) is very close by, as is Drake's Trail and the Tamar trails. Watersports are available on nearby Roadford Lake. The rivers can be fished, via the 'Westcountry Angling Passport' (westcountryangling.com).

Měli jsme několik 'dní ven' s dětmi do Cornwallu a jednotky byly velmi jednoduché.

Sylvie a tým byli velmi vstřícní a nemohli nám pobyt usnadnit.

Set in 40 acres of private land on Dartmoor National Park, where you are free to roam to your hearts content or just relax and watch the wildlife.
Small hamlet on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. So many places to visit! Lydford Gorge - The deepest river gorge in the South West, with 30m high waterfall The gorge is a great place for an adventure at any time of the year. The wildlife, river, plants and trees provide a stunning show each and every day. There are a range of walks available to suit different abilities and time scales however sturdy footwear is recommended for all trails. The full Lydford Gorge trail takes around 2.5 hours to complete and is a challenging circular walk with narrow slippery paths and steep drops. This trail operates on a one-way system due to the nature of the paths. On this route you can see the 30m Whitelady Waterfall and go into the Devil’s Cauldron pothole on a platform suspended over the water. Allow extra time to stop and refuel at one of our tea-rooms. The Devil’s Cauldron trail is one of two shorter circular walks allowing you to experience the exciting features of the gorge. The Devil’s Cauldron trail is a moderate 45 minute walk which is also part of the one-way system as the paths are narrow and slippery in places, especially after heavy rain when the Devil’s Cauldron is at its most spectacular. Whitelady Waterfall can be reached on various routes as the paths here are two-way. The Waterfall trail is a moderate circular walk of about an hour. One option is to take the path down over 200 uneven steps to the waterfall and then walk along the river and up the sloped path back to the start. For further options ask at visitor reception or explore using the map you receive on arrival. For those with mobility limitations, the waterfall can also be reached by tramper - we only allow our vehicle down which must be booked at least 48 hours in advance by phone or email. Add-ons to the walking trails include the track along the old railway line to the bird hide (which is also suitable for the tramper) and the path to Tucker’s Pool which follows the river further up-stream from the Devil’s Cauldron. This tranquil pool is a good place to rest and watch for wildlife. Dippers and wagtails can be seen flying low over the river, while woodland birds can be spotted darting about in the trees. The flora in the gorge changes with the seasons. Wildflowers such as wild garlic and bluebells abound in spring, filling the gorge with colour and scent. Summer is dominated by the green leaves of the oak woodland which encloses the gorge making it feel more magical. In autumn the oak leaves turn to golden brown before falling and colourful fungi can pop up in unexpected places. In winter look out for views that are hidden in summer by the leaves, and on a frosty morning mists can veil the waterfall. The gorge is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its geology, flora and fauna. Please respect the habitats in the gorge by taking only photographs and leaving only footprints. Castle Drogo - is a country house and mixed-revivalist castle near Drewsteignton, Devon, England. Constructed between 1911 and 1930, it was the last castle to be built in England. The client was Julius Drewe, the hugely successful founder of the Home and Colonial Stores. Drewe chose the site in the belief that it formed part of the lands of his supposed medieval ancestor, Drogo de Teigne. The architect he chose to realise his dream was Edwin Lutyens, then at the height of his career. Lutyens lamented Drewe's determination to have a castle but nevertheless produced one of his finest buildings. The architectural critic, Christopher Hussey, described the result: "The ultimate justification of Drogo is that it does not pretend to be a castle. It is a castle, as a castle is built, of granite, on a mountain, in the twentieth century". The castle was given to the National Trust in 1974, the first building constructed in the twentieth century that the Trust acquired. Currently undergoing conservation (2013–2018), the castle is a Grade I listed building. The gardens are Grade II* listed on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. The property is right on the Western edge of Dartmoor near the sleepy hamlet of Brentor, with plenty of space to roam, ride, walk or just escape from the noise of life. There are several local pubs serving home cooked food and with a welcoming log fire. Just 10 minutes away by car is Tavistock, an ancient stannary and market town within West Devon, England. It is situated on the River Tavy from which its name derives. At the 2011 census the three electoral wards (North, South and South West) had a population of 13,028. It traces its recorded history back to at least 961 when Tavistock Abbey, whose ruins lie in the centre of the town, was founded. Its most famous son is Sir Francis Drake. Dartmoor National Park
