Silverdale village is a fair way from the train station, and the shuttle bus is a little sporadic and operates only 6 days a week. It worked well enough for us, and Rowena helped out too, which was much appreciated and well above and beyond what we expected from a host. Its such a beautiful area and feels so rural for being relatively close to Lancaster. Rowena had lots of ideas for things to do, and found out about a few events specifically for us. Thanks Rowena!

Rowena's place is really lovely. Simple but charming in an adorable little village at the coast near the Lake District. You definitely need a car to get there but it is totally worth it. Rowena is very friendly, welcoming and provides you with every information you need for your stay.

Lovely bright room, with great hosts Mark & Paula. They were very friendly and thoughtful, and made us feel right at home. I'd definitely recommend a visit to the beautiful village of Arnside and a stay with these great hosts.

Mark and Paula are absolutely lovely hosts and were so friendly and welcoming to us. Their home is clean and quiet and boasts some gorgeous views from the large kitchen window. We had a great chat with them on our second night and really enjoyed getting to know them. We hope the come visit us in Canada one day!

Mark and Paula were very nice people and it was lovely to be a guest in their warm and open house for a couple of days. We did some scenic hikes in the Lakes thanks to the experience and maps they shared with us. Would love to come back some day!

Excellent experience in Mark and Paula accomodation, they were really kind and gave tips to visit the region. Their house is really well located at the bottom of the Lake District, perfect for a weekend. We defenitely recomend it.

Great room with large private bathroom. It was all very clean and with Paula's directions, meant it was very easy to find. Very convenient location as the walking trails we were interested in were all within 30-40 mins driving. Paula and Mark were incredibly welcoming guests and were happy to give us tips and walking routes. (We are definitely going to do Helvellyn next time when the weather is a bit clearer!) Would highly recommend to anyone considering staying here and we hope to stay again soon (if they have us!)

This is a beautiful home, so peaceful and luxurious. We stayed here for a long weekend with another couple as a base to tour the area including the lake district. We were so impressed with the local scenery we spent most of the weekend touring the local coastal towns and hiking in the area. We looked forward to coming back to Karen's home each evening. The house was always lovely and warm, the beds are very comfortable and the welcome pack was very generous, including some lovely molten brown toiletries. I couldn't recommend Karen's home enough. Looking forward to visiting again.

Amazing grand period property - split level apartment with grand staircase. One of the most tasteful, well renovated places we've stayed at including 2.5 luxury bathrooms and free standing tub. All Within 45 minutes of Lake Windermere and 5 minutes of Sliverdale beachfront. Set in acres of private land the property is part of a converted mansion now luxury apartments in a fully secure location with automated gates and coded access. Karen was a wonderful host and having stayed in many places around the world with Airbnb it was the touches in the welcome basket, the generous kitchen and Molton Brown toiletries that let you know your host thinks about making the place a "home from home". Such a wonderful setting, amazing property with real wood fire and ample central heating, combined with privacy, and access to the lakes and Lancs means this place is sure to be a hit. We feel very happy to have been the first guests and hope it won't be too busy to book again in the future. Perfect in winter or summer. We are a couple and two children (4 weeks and 4.5 years old, may not suit toddlers 1-4 because of stairs but our eldest was fine and loved the gardens. Equally would suit a romanic break. The property would suit many as its got two very large luxurious bedrooms both with large en suites. Top retreat .. better than the photos.. seriously have no faults which is unusual for us fussy travellers .. thanks Karen

Our stay at Halewood Hall was excellent! Karen is extremely generous and our welcome was more than we could have expected. The place itself is like a wonderland, with a beautiful garden and a forest to walk in, it's also easy to get to the beach and there are beautiful places close by to visit and see. We were ultra comfortable and the Hall itself is exceptional.

My Dad and I had a wonderful stay at Karen's place. It is private, well appointed, and the perfect place to unwind. There was an enormous amount of thought and care that went into toiletries, a welcome grocery pack, and rapid responses to any questions. One small point of feedback is that the wifi was a little erratic and slow, but still workable for anything other than heavy use. Overall a wonderful stay - thank you so much!

A Lovely clean, comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Paula and her dog darcy were very welcoming from the onset and there was a very relaxed feel in the house. Tea and some breakfast was provided on a help yourself basis and Paula was very happy to advise us on some of the best spots to see in the Lakes. Only a short 10 min walk to the village centre were there are pubs, a thai restaurant and a grocery store so plenty of access to nice places to eat. Also very close to the beach with a fantastic view of Morcambe Bay/Grange over Sands. Perfect place to stop off for a relaxed night in the Lake District with a lovely host!

Everything about our stay was great. Paula was a really helpful hostess and gave us lots of tips for the area. She was really welcoming of us and our dogs and nothing was too much of a problem. The house is perfectly situated to go down to the beach and you are on the doorstep of some amazing walks. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back!

It was a very pleasant stay at Paula's place. The location was easy to find and the drive to the place itself is scenic. Paula was very hospitable. The room was cozy and very well kept, with an attached toilet. The dining and kitchen were tastefully detailed out and Paula always there to help. The backyard was beautiful. From Brian's welcome to his farewell, this is a little diamond of a place. We found it last year when holidaying nearby, and we walked to find it. As soon as we saw the peaceful, scenic setting, we booked it for this year. The Boathouse is built alongside Brian's main home, in a row of about 6 shoreline cottages, on a private road. It directly overlooks the sea, and the views are amazing from the small balcony. There is a good sized bedroom and en suite to the ground floor, with a lovely open plan lounge/dining area with balcony to sit out on to the first floor. There is a compact kitchenette sited neatly behind closed doors. There's underfloor heating if the weather turns cool. The light floods the upstairs from the glass gable frontage. We spent long evenings either on the balcony or on one of the comfy settees, just taking in the beautiful views and changing skies. The sunsets were amazing. This little hideaway is ideal for 2 people. We absolutely loved this place. If you love peace, quiet, sea, walking, and relaxing, this is the place for you. Thank you Brian.

Perfect! Literally everything about the boathouse was lovely. Amazing views. Amazing walks. Loved taking a stroll on the beach for the sunset. Brian was a great host welcomed us and left us to have a peaceful stay but was on hand if need be. Already planning our next trip!

The Boathouse is a superb place to stay if you want to visit the beautiful area and have a relaxing time. Silverdale is a small village but has everything you need, a couple of lovely pubs, a small supermarket etc. The views from the property are second to none and although the weather wasn't with us on this visit, watching the storm come in over the bay from the floor to ceiling windows was very impressive. The Boathouse has everything you could possibly need and was very warm and comfortable. Communication with Brian was great and he welcomed us in when we first arrived showing us through the property and was also very helpful recommending a lovely restaurant for my husbands birthday. I will certainly be returning to The Boathouse in the future.

We were warmly welcomed by Brian and after being shown around we were invited to treat the Boathouse like home. Brian gave us space and left us alone all week, but was available should we have needed any help. We hoped the Boathouse would live up to the pictures and we were not disappointed with amazing views across the bay. It was well designed with high quality furnishings. Peace and quiet, off the beaten track, lovely! Brain always ensured we had car parking space. Many thanks Brian.

Just want to say what an amazing stay we had. Gabrielle was a superb host. Making sure we knew where she was and how to get there before hand. When we got there we got shown around then left to our own thing. Offered breakfast and given a key. Told to make ourselves at home We had a few lovely chats and she offered advice where she could House was amazing. Lovely setting and so quiet. Shower was the best shower I've ever had I have no bad thing to say about this stay. Recommend thoroughly Very cheap for what you get!! Thank you for having us.

Gabrielle was such a lovely host who welcomed us with so much generosity into her cozy home. The location was great for traveling to the Lake District hot spots (only 25 minutes away), easy to find and close to other towns and cities around the area. Gabrielle is very inviting and a real hoot!

We had a lovely stay with Gabrielle and Edward (the cat). The house was in a beautiful location - a short drive from the seaside and the lakes. It was super comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was great. Gabrielle made us feel very welcome!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Poppies. The house was exactly as pictured, and fit three people (and would fit four) very comfortably. Though Alison wasn't able to meet us, she'd made sure everything was in order, down to the wood for the fireplace and the fleece sheets, which were very much appreciated in February! The kitchen was good for cooking, and having a combined washer / dryer (and a good drying rack) was helpful. Arnside is a nice village, and you can get to the water easily. We definitely recommend Poppies!

The cottage is lovely. An absolute gem, home from home! It's clean, well equipped, peaceful and comfortable. Alison met us as we arrived and made us feel very welcome, she obviously loves her little cottage - and so do we! The road is quiet, so a good nights sleep (wonderful!) and it is not far to the centre of Arnside. We will be using this cottage again and again to visit our family who live just up the road - perfect for us!

Lovely old terrace in a great location in the little village. Full of very friendly people. Attended the weekly market in the WI hall and met some very interesting locals. Good location to cover the southern/western Lake District. Very comfortable, great wifi and everything supplied.

What a fantastic place do not think about just book it. Lovely cottage with log fire close to two pubs, cracking fish and chip shop and pie shop and some amazing walks around the bay. You can also get the train to the lakes never used the car once

This was a lovely cottage very sympathetically (URL HIDDEN) was light, bright and had a cosy feel about it. We enjoyed having breakfast, coffees and a glass of wine in the pretty patio garden. The cottage is very well equipped with plenty of storage and feels surprisingly spacious. Alison was very helpful and welcoming. Arnside is a lovely place with walks from the door. We would love to stay at Poppies again.

We have now stayed twice at Poppies which shows we are very happy there and would happily recommend it to others. Alison is very communicative and friendly, someone who you know is there to ensure your stay is a success. The cottage is lovely, just as described. We have a dog and it is very well placed for wonderful walks from the door.

Lovely old style coach house and beautiful location, a minute only walk away from the sea. The main living area is on the middle floor, downstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and upstairs there is a lovely master bedroom with bathroom facilities. The location of Silverdale is beautiful with Arndale being a short drive away. I stayed with my children and mother. I felt the description should have included that there was no television, it was a surprise and disappointment to find no TV. Being there with young children who go to bed early, this was sorely missed. Also there was no microwave, nor toaster, which dampened my efforts to make speedy family dinners. It would have been ok that there was no toaster if the grill had worked - we could make no toast for the kids.

Wonderful home, beautiful secluded location and a perfect place to get away from it all. There is no TV but excellent broadband so take a laptop to keep you busy at night as the village is very quiet. A perfect place for a family break in the country, we hope to return soon

Maria and Nick have been amazing hosts. The cottage was very clean, cosy and all supplies needed (and more) were provided! Location was also great: very quiet and peaceful area, which is only a 5 min drive to the nearest supermarkets. Would definitely recommend it to anyone!

What a find ! This a beautiful, smart modern house with excellent modern and clean facilities throughout. Susan and Jon are lovely hosts. They are welcoming and provided an excellent cold breakfast with plenty of choice. Susan went out of her way to make sure our vegan needs were catered for. The bedroom is well equipped with a comfy bed and mod cons. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Silverdale. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I must say I cannot fault this accommodation. If you want quaint and oldie worldie, it is not. But luxury it is ! Peter

We were warmly welcomed into Susan & John's beautiful modern home. Everything you could need was provided & the house was extremely clean. The view from the breakfast table was amazing . It was nice to sit and chat with our hosts over a lovely breakfast .Susan was very attentive but never over bearing . Susan & John had a good knowledge of the area and were able to provide maps and tips for a good day out. The house is in a residential area, but secluded and quiet. It is within walking distance of the local Co-op & pubs and ideally located to visit most of the local beauty spots. We particularly enjoyed our visit to Arnside where we were able to dine al fresco at the Albion pub, over looking the estuary.

This is an Airbnb from your dreams! Me and Jack spent the Easter weekend at Susan's house, as our base to visit the Lake District. Susan and Jon are the kindest and most interesting couple. They showed us were to go, shared their maps and knowledge about the Lake District and the area. Their house is beautiful, modern and tidy, with an amazing view in the dining room overseeing the hills and the fields. The wifi was very good as well!:) The area around the house is amazing, with many walks to the shore and the cliffs starting from their house. It's a perfect place to spent your getaway to relax and rest from the buzzing loud streets of the city. We would definitely come back here! Thank you Susan!:)

A beautifully converted coach house with 3 good bedrooms and well appointed living area. A great location with good walks (with wonderful views across to the Lakes and over Morecambe Bay) from the front door and an easy walk into Arnside which had an excellent bakery and fish & chip shop. Lots to do nearby with the Lakes within easy reach as well as some excellent houses to visit (Sizergh and Levens Hall).

My host was wonderfully welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Cath was helpful when needed but also respected my privacy allowing me to come and go as I pleased. I'd definitely go again.

We had a great stay in Grange-over-sands at Cath's place, there was a little confusion when arriving but other than that we were made to feel very welcome and had a very enjoyable stay & trip!

The host made us really welcome with a warming drink and a fireside chat. We were able to use the kitchen for breakfast which was laid on as well. Very cosy stay and would like to go back again.

I strongly recommend this place and Cath is the best!!! Warm and generous as can be. It can't get any better.

It was absolutely what we needed - quiet beautiful spot in lovely area after long hike on the weekend. Even so we didn't have a chance to meet Cath, we were feeling very welcomed. If I am ever traveling that way again- it's my first choice to be staying at.

Krásná chata, dobře prezentovány se vším, co bychom mohli potřebovat. John za předpokladu, spoustu užitečných, místní informace pro nás. Velmi příjemný prostor se snadným přístupem k jezerům a Lancaster což je přesně to, co jsme potřebovali. Důkladně si užil náš pobyt a doufáme, že pravidelně navštěvovat!

Velmi pěkné a dobře se nachází chata. Vše je tam (možná s výjimkou několika větších hrnců) a vše je v pořádku. John sám nebyl na místě, ale informace poslal byla vynikající. A soused byl k dispozici v případě potřeby.

Krásné teplé komfortní chata. zbývá v lednici potraviny byly přesně to, co jsme potřebovali. Fantastická Pěší zóna. Sledovali jsme podle návodu na víla kroky, které zanechaly John (všechny pokyny Johns jsme vynikající). Přes vrchol Beetham zahradního centra na oběd a zpět podél pobřeží. Počasí nemohlo být lepší, a pohled z Arnside Knott v neděli dopoledne bylo perfektní. Storth samo o sobě je jako jít zpět v čase. Krásné tiché uličky a vynikající komunitní obchod. Doufáme, že se brzy vrátí.

Ubytování bylo krásné, čisté, útulné. Prostředí hezké a přátelské. Restaurace v okolí (Ship inn) výborná, pokaždé jsme se dobře a dosyta najedli. Vřele doporučujeme.

užili jsme přestávku v jezerech. Splněny Anne, kteří nás přivítali. Chalupa, jak je popsáno, vynikající pro 4 osoby, ale pravděpodobně těsně za 6. (např Pouze jednou koupelnou). Dobrý Wee (URL HIDDEN) dobře jako doma připravit všechna jídla. Užili log hořák na v noci. Dostatek teplé vody pro sprchy. Great obec a okolí. Místní obyvatelé tak přátelský!

Starobylý dům v krásné lokalitě vybavené vším, co jsme potřebovali pro příjemný pár dní pryč. John také spoustu užitečných místních informací o věcí, které se v této oblasti. Velmi relaxační přestávka.

Zjistili jsme, Výhled na moře velmi čisté. uklizené a pohodlné. V chatě bylo trochu chladno, když jsme přijeli, a kotel / radiátory Zdálo se, že provozní pod par, ale dostali jsme se do kontaktu s Johnem a on měl velice rychle třídit. Tam byla spousta dřeva, aby se oheň také ve společenské místnosti (rozsah v jídelně se nepracuje). Storth je sladká vesnice a chaty je snadné najít, přímo v centru. Pošta naproti zadní bráně právě přepnutí na provozováno komunitou, a vypadá to, jako by to má spoustu místní podporou. Prodává místní slaninu nad vejce z volného chovu za dobrou snídani! Existuje spousta skvělých věcí, které se v této oblasti. Měli jsme fantastickou čaj v Grange Over Sands, a nádhernou procházku nad jezerem Windemere na jediný krásný den, který jsme měli. Doporučil bych chalupu a Jana jako hostitel.

Cassie has a nice old cottage in a lovey location, with all the modern amenities. The area is very scenic and close to popular spots in Lake District. The communication was excellent between u.s Ian, Cassie's dad was very friendly and helpful and told us about things to do in the area.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful scenic location. Check in really easy and the host was really helpful. Great pub just around the corner. Easy access to main road. 30min drive to Lake Windermere. A wonderful, peaceful stay.

This is an excellent space for a family wanting to explore the area. Short drives from the main sites at the Lake District. Just 5 minutes drive away from two large supermarkets. Good outside space available and the kids loved it here. The "third bedroom" is a sofabed in the lounge which needs to be considered if required as this limits somewhat if a large family. There are two bathrooms which facilitate matters. There is another house across the road which can be considered for future rentals - to increase the bed numbers to 10. Excellent place - would definitely use again.

This is a lovely, quaint little cottage. It is exactly as advertised, what you see is precisely what you get. The host (Cassie) was in China, so Ian checked us in, and he was very welcoming. He also gave us some suggestions concerning what to do around the area, which is a 30-minute drive from Windermere. So if you're staying here because you want to visit the Lake District, I would suggest bringing a car.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. Great to be able to take our dog away with us. The cottage was warm and toasty and much bigger than expected. Could do with a few extra touches such as mirrors in the bedrooms (for putting make up on!). Really good location if you have a car. We visited the Lake District one day, and the beach in Morecombe the next. Lots to see and do nearby.

Perfect cottage for a weekend break in the countryside with the Lake District on your doorstep. Ian and Cassie both good on communication and Ian had some fab recommendations! Lovely pub just a couple of minutes walk round the corner too. Definitely recommend this place.

Vi var en grupp av fem inklusive min 4-åriga dotter. Vi hade en trevlig vistelse på hotellet och värd var mycket tillgänglig som bor mycket nära. Ian, hjälpte Cassie far oss med några bra ställen att besöka. Det är ett bra ställe att fly från dagliga rutiner och njuta av skönheten i naturen.

Jo is a fantastic host, I have stayed in lots of Airbnbs and this was one of the best value for money, home was spotless and a home rather than a soulless box. Arnside is a really beautiful gem and couldn't recommend more.

The house is big enough for 4 person. It is clean and well furnished. The Arnsite is nice and has a strategic position for discovering of the Lake Distric.

Siamo stati benissimo in questo casa tradizionale in pietra. La casa è molto caratteristica con camino e pavimenti in legno antichi. Dotata di tutti i comfort in cucina e ottimamente arredata, è molto comfortevole. Ottima per scorpire la regione del Lake District.

A lovely and memorable place . So tastefully decorated! A home away from home. Jo's place is clean, cosy and comfortable. The shops were just a stone's throw away. The neighborhood is quiet. You could take a walk along the promenade and enjoy the scenery . You could also have coffee at the quaint shops nearby. In a nutshell , it was splendid.

Jo's olace is a perfect getaway. We chose the location to be near Lake Windmere, but we fell in love with Arnside.
