“OK, definitely one of my absolutely favourite local walks. But the first 30 minutes is a solid uphill slog, following by crossing a path built over a water pipe. The track is very safe, but if you don't have a head for heights, the pipe section might be challenging. I'm not great with heights, and manage this ok, because the views from the platform on a clear day are well worth the effort!”

“You can walk along Nelsons boulder bank, which is the largest natural boulder bank in the world! There is a light house at the end too, which you can visit.”

“For one of the best views of Queenstown and an iconic experience in the alpine resort, there’s the Tiki Trail. Starting at the bottom of the gondola the Tiki Trail winds its way towards the lookout at the top where you have the option of making your way back down, after a few photos and a drink, or if the climb has got the better of you relax in the Gondola for the journey back down.”

“With a well maintained set of mountain bike trails, the Teetotal area is great for mountain biking and walking. Access is either by road heading west out of the village, on the right, OR you can walk (25 mins) or bike (10 mins) there via the track at the end of Beechnest Drive (out of Morepork Heights turn right down Glacial Terrace and turn right again). The zig zag track leads you up into beautiful beech and manuka forest. This track is great for walking, bikes, and is baby-buggy accessible. ”
