Getting to the cottage couldn't have been easier with detailed instructions for the house. The location was exactly what we needed with a lovely little welcome pack of wine and crisps. The village is a perfect springboard to travel around the area. Beautiful and well loved house, which made you instantly feel relaxed and at home. It had everything you needed within arms reach. I would definitely recommend Thorncombe to everyone who would like to get away and relax!

Great stay. Charming cottage. Very clean. The extra surprises on arrival were a lovely addition. Lovely village, very quiet surroundings and whilst didn't get to use much of the garden outside mainly due to the weather it was very nice to look at. The only thing to be mindful is the stairs are very steep, due to how old the cottage is and there is no handrail. My 83 year old grandma coped just about getting up and down the stairs. Overall would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cute Dorset cottage. It's a good location too and the village is lovely. This would be a lovely spot in the summer too as it's quite central to everything that the region has to offer, such as walks etc.

The cottage was a lovely space to unwind and relax, with beautiful surroundings, and a very well stocked locally run shop. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting the south coast and want some peace and quiet after a busy day sight seeing, but with some lovely walks near by.

It is a neat little cottage house, wich had enough space for the four of us. As a tall person I had to take good care of my head, but I had expected that. The house was clean and well looked after, we felt quite at home there. We even found some food and two beers as a welcome gift in the fridge. Lovely quiete area in the countryside. It was perfect for getting away from it all and at the same time it was pretty close to some interesting spots like Lyme Regis etc. Definitely recomendable!

House was immaculately clean and Laura was flexible in allowing us to arrive early. Lovely bottle of wine, chocolates and a card were waiting for us on arrival!

My girls and I loved staying at the cottage. Laura is a very attentive guest, replying to messages promptly and she was very flexible with check-in and check-out times. She left a lovely bundle of local produce and a lovely card for us on our arrival too. The photos of the cottage don't do it justice, there's a lovely apple tree full of apples just right of the photos. The inside is cosy and warm, duvets and pillows are fluffy and the kitchen stocked much better than average. We only used the cottage as a base to go fossil hunting in nearby Lyme Regis and Charmouth, which are about 30 minutes away and most of the drive is through wonderful country lanes, which were a joy to our eyes with all their Autumn colours. What a lovely stay, thank you.

Wow we couldn't of been luckier to find this gem. Our first time ever using air b&b and Laura our host, the location, the cottage it was all perfect! The cottage is clean and warm, I was expecting (and packed) to be cold but all the heaters had been put on for our arrival making it so homely the log burner keeps the whole cottage warm and cosy. Laura left us a lovely card, prosecco, cheese & biscuits and even dog toys for our 2 spaniels! What a lovely touch - thank you. It was also great for us to be left to it, I saw some other places where the host is on site - I'd much prefer the relaxed approach. The pantry had everything you need, most 'self catering' places leave you with nothing and Laura left us with everything you could need! Milk in the fridge ready for a well needed cup of tea! We were a little apprehensive about finding The Holt as it is very rural but if you take a sat nav it takes you straight to the door (don't use your phone, I had very little signal our whole stay) Great local walks out the back of the cottage through the gate. We visited west bay whilst we were there and would recommend it's beautiful beach. We also visited Axminster - wouldn't recommend not much there. We went to Hugh Fernley Whittingstalls canteen - again not great personally I thought there was very little choice at lunchtime and expected a lot more. But we did visit the 2 places Laura recommended The Cotley inn in wanbrook near chard & The paulet arms in Hinton st George both FANTASTIC! And both dog friendly! I couldn't be happier after a fantastic birthday weekend getaway highly recommend thank you so much Laura and Berni. :)

Amazing Loved the cottage and the area

Nice neighbors, Laura was not present, but they organized all come up front for our: also flowers and wine were already ready!

Laura ist so ein wunderbarer, nachdenklich Gastgeber. Das Haus ist wunderschön, haben die Bilder nicht gerecht. Der Holzofen hält das ganze Haus sehr gemütlich. Küche ist gut ausgestattet und schön. Das Bett ist so bequem, und wir so gut geschlafen in der ruhigen Landschaft. Wir haben einen schönen 10 Meile Rundwanderung von der Hütte und ein weiteres an der Küste entlang. Eine perfekte weg von das ganze Wochenende. Wir kamen völlig entspannt!

Rebecca war sehr gut organisiert uns eine detaillierte Wegbeschreibung vor unserem Besuch zu senden und uns bei der Ankunft willkommen fühlen Vorschläge von Plätzen anbieten zu essen und zu trinken und Orte, die wir besuchen vielleicht gefallen.

Was für ein wunderbarer Ort! Rebecca war hilfsbereit und kommunikativ und das Haus war gerade aus dem Film das Notebook!

Das Haus ist so malerisch wie auf dem Foto, so sofort hat uns bei der Ankunft glücklich fühlen. Rebecca bot einen guten Anweisungen vorher, und war eine sehr herzliche Gastgeber, gaben uns Tipps, wohin wir gehen, und lokale Informationen bereitstellt. Das Haus ist so schön, fantastische Lage und wir würden gerne wieder für einen weiteren Aufenthalt zu kommen, die in der Region mehr erkunden und mehr BBQ mit Blick auf den Teich.

Rebecca was very game in letting us book early evening and arrive a few hours later. The cottage is very comfortably and tastefully furnished in a beautiful setting.

Rebecca has a lovely cottage which me and two friends stayed in for three nights. It was very cosy and relaxing and was well equipped with all we needed for our stay. Rebecca was very informative prior to our stay and was very responsive to any questions we had whilst we were staying the cottage. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this cottage as somewhere to stay or Rebecca who is a very welcoming host.

A really comfortable and clean living space with a beautiful garden, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rebecca was a very thoughtful PST who was in touch and available throughout the Etsy if we had needed her, but everything went very smoothly. Rebecca's detailed notes gave us lots of ideas for things to do with the kids in the nearby areas. A great place to stay with children whilst exploring the coast and countryside. We booked this property for a weekend away with my mother-in-law visiting from Australia and absolutely loved it! We were so surprised that the cottage is so much nicer than the photos. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 upstairs with double beds and a single room downstairs. The rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of natural light. We arrived late at night and the key was easily accessible with the details Rebecca gave us. Rebecca came to say hello the next morning and gave us lots of great tips of things to see and do (which we did most of them!). The cottage is on a beautiful property, and it's so nice to wake up in the morning to the chirping of birds and sounds of wild animals. There is a gorgeous little stream out the back of the property. The cottage is located around a 20 minute drive to the coast to the gorgeous towns of Lyme Regis. I would definitely recommend bringing a phone with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps (or downloading the maps to access offline before you come) as the streets are very small and not well sign posted. With (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps it was easy to find our way around although note that the postcode doesn't take you exactly to the cottage. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyway looking for a lovely weekend away in Dorset - great value for money!

What can I say. It was absolutely perfect. Imogen was lovely and the whole experience was just a dream. I was nervous of trying Airbnb for the first time with my kids and so it had to feel right and be right; and it was! A big thank you to Imogen (and family) who made us welcome and feel at home. The kids have already asked to go again!

Imogen shared in the preparation of a meal & welcomed us with a glass of cider. The description was accurate too.

From the moment Imogen opened the door to her cheery goodbye the following morning Imogen was a perfect host. We were weary from a long walk & she revived us with tea & cup cakes, left us to have a long soak & then provided us with a delicious evening meal. Although we were sharing the house with Imogen & her daughter we felt very much at ease - among friends, in fact. Their humour & vivacity made our short stay a highlight of our holiday.

Wow! What a gem. We loved our stay here and had a wonderful experience. Very beautiful and relaxing place and the Hut it's self is great. Beautifully decorated and cosy and the bed is to die for it was so comfy we didn't want to leave. Thanks lydia untill next time .

It was a wonderful setting and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. There were some problems with the central heating and shower temperature, but mostly it was comfortable.

The team at Magdalen couldnt have been nicer - Sam and Dan: thx for making our families feel welcome. We loved the tour of the farm and feeding the animals. It's clear that the team love their work and protecting the environment. We had a great time - quite memorable. Guest shouldnt go there though expecting it to be all mod cons. We had to bring lots of basic stuff with us from home It was designed to host lots of school trips -not for modern families i suspect used to the comforts of a hotel or apartment. It took 4 hours to get there but we left with warm memories.

The farmhouse was set in a lovely location. We visited the animals and had a beautiful walk. The house was warm and comfortable with a good amount of space for us all. We were met by a very welcoming member of the farm who told us everything we needed to know. I'd recommend taking pillows as they were rather flat!

This is a really lovely farmhouse set in a beautiful location.

We had a fantastic stay - It was our first stay anywhere with the entire family and it was a huge success - already planning the next big family event! The house was warm and comfortable, with a beautiful garden and land - exceptional value for money and brilliant to be on the farm too!

The hosts were very friendly, we also loved the homemade cake and breakfast treats they had left for us when we arrived which was very thoughtful after a long drive! They were really helpful sharing lots of tips about the area and places to visit! It is a really lovely quiet village with the village shop below if you need anything, as well as a Tesco a short drive away. We had lots of great days out, Lyme Regis is about a 20 minute drive and were able to explore a lot of the Jurassic coast and surrounding towns! It is a lovely area. The place itself looks bigger than in the photos, and was very cosy - great after days of exploring.

Janet is a wonderful host. Met us on arrival and made us welcome from the first moment on. We had everything we needed. The flat was nice and clean. Breakfast in the morning was also a great start to the day. Recommended.

A really lovely annexe. We were made to feel really welcome on arrival with some lovely cake. A brilliant location to explore the Jurassic coast.

Having given only an hours notice we were warmly welcomed by Tim and shown around. It was a gorgeous home with all the amenities required. Tim recommended a pub 50 yards away which was great. Breakfast was supplied including bacon sausage eggs and tomatoes- I cannot recommend them any more than stating that there should be 6 stars !

Such a lovely welcome with some delicious cake to enjoy with a much needed cuppa after our journey. Janet and Tim were helpful and friendly, but also allowed us our own space as they went about their day. We were worried about parking before arriving as the listing said the parking wasn't on site, but the on-street parking was right outside the gate. The Old Grain Loft was spacious and just what we needed, with a relaxing lounge and kitchen area, bathroom and double bedroom. Everything was clean and tidy, and the bacon, sausage, eggs, and homemade bread and marmalade was perfect for breakfast in the morning - a lovely touch and very tasty to enjoy at our leisure in the morning. There wasn't much phone signal and it's in a beautiful quiet village, so be prepared for this away from the hustle and bustle. Drive was around an hour to Exeter and 30 minutes to Lyme Regis. Overall a lovely stay, thanks Janet and Tim!

I loved Janet's place! Annexed to her beautiful home, with a kitchen/diner/sitting room, large bathroom and lovely airy bedroom, the Old Grain Loft is fabulous and was perfect for my stay to attend a local function. It's well appointed and equipped for a really comfy, quiet stay in the lovely Somerset village of Winsham. I really appreciated her warm, friendly welcome along with Tim's homemade bread, Janet's homemade marmalade and delicious carrot cakes along with all the delicious cooked breakfast delights which I could use at my convenience. The bed and duvet were so comfy - I slept wonderfully and appreciated being so rested. Sitting outside and overlooking the pretty garden as the sun went down, I enjoyed just listening to the birds and lambs in the nearby fields, and noticing a couple of bats fly across. Janet and Tim really do have a beautiful spot and a lovely little place for people to stay. I'd highly recommend this place - Janet & Tim were lovely hosts too. Thank you both!

Comfy bed lovely breakfast

The Garden Příloha bylo krásné, prostorné a velmi pěkně zařízené, uprostřed nejkrásnější krajinou. Byli jsme se cítí velmi vítané. Všechno bylo velmi uvolněně.

Skvělým místem k pobytu a dostat kolem. Marilyn byl skvělý hostitel a tam bylo tolik krásný výhled. Velmi klidné.

Náš hostitel jsme se cítili velmi vítaná, jakmile jsme dorazili. Byli jsme prokázáno kolem sebe a být tak blízko, jsme byli schopni klást otázky, jestli tam byly nějaké dotazy.

Takové krásné, klidné místo k zůstat několik nocí, mísa domácí pěstuje jablka a půl litru mléka při příjezdu byly pěkné doteky. Užili jsme si hořák log a šťastně strávil deštivé dopoledne relaxační / hrát spolu, aniž by cítil na vrcholu sebe. Užíval jsem toho názoru země do údolí, zatímco jsme jedli naši snídani a oběd. By vřele doporučuji, pokud se vám líbí klidném venkovském prostředí. Marilyn byl přátelský a ochotný, ukazuje nám, asi při příjezdu a je k dispozici mluvit, když je potřeba.

Z malého, ale velmi lehké "obývacím pokoji" Měli bychom krásně pohled na kopcích a do zahrady. Dům byl dobře vybavené a útulné. Marilyn obdrželi, je s jablky a švestkami ze zahrady.

Pokud hledáte místo se dostat pryč a relaxovat v krásné přírodě, pak je to pravé místo pro vás. Tato lokalita je ohromující a klidné, ubytování je pohodlné a má vše, co potřebujete, a hostitelé, Marilyn a Simon, byl příjemný a přátelský a dokonce vzal čas odeslání podrobnou trasu zajistit, abychom neztratili. Celkově vzato, měli jsme krásný týden.

Está situado en un lugar tranquilo y bastante fantástica. Un buen lugar para relajarse. El fácil acceso a la orilla del mar. Los anfitriones eran útiles y comprensión.

Wir fanden unsere kleinen Familienausflug zu Fenellas ländlichen Rückzug. Das Haus ist viel geräumiger als in den Bildern erscheint. Wir waren mit unseren 2yo Tochter und konnten ihr Kinderbett in Fenellas Studio einzurichten ermöglicht es uns, ein Schlafzimmer für uns - ein Luxus auf einem weg. Fenellas Hütte war mit interessanten Stücken die Schaffung einer "Fundgrube" Kuriositäten für unsere Kleinen gefüllt. Beide Fenella und ihrer reizenden Katze haben uns das Gefühl, sehr willkommen, mit Fenella Tocken auf Brot, Tee, Kekse und Milch für unsere Ankunft - der perfekte Gastgeber.

Fenella war sehr freundlich und sorgte dafür, dass wir angekommen verstanden sicher, um das Funktionieren des Hauses und hatte Zugang zu allen Informationen, die wir für den Aufenthalt. Ihr Haus ist mit interessanten Bücher über verschiedene Themen und schöne Artefakte gefüllt. Es war sehr warm und die Katze ist ein absoluter Schatz! Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt.

We all had a very relaxing time at Fenellas house, it was quirky, cosy and comfortable, all we could have wished for. Fenellas helpful approach and generosity was very welcome and appreciated by us all. The location is great for country rambles and easy access by car to the coast. Funny dogs and good beer at the local pub too!

We had a relaxing and rejuvenating stay in Fenella's wonderfully fun colourful and comfortable home. We appreciated her laid back approach to check in and check out times and were thrilled with the biscuits, bread, milk etc that met us upon arrival. We also loved the little suntrap garden and Minx the cat.

We had the perfect trip, the views are breathtaking, the cottage was cosy and the space for the kids to run around was excellent. It was the perfect antidote for life in the big smoke.

The cottage is lovely and in a beautiful location. Excellent for walks. Due to the size of the rooms & beds it is probably best suited for families with children, rather than a group of adults. However we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend it.

Ben's cottage is a very clean, well appointed and homely family space with an abundance of lovely features - including two log burners, a large attractive garden (with a zip wire and tree house) - all set in a beautiful, picturesque location. The view is uninterrupted for miles and miles - the pictures really do not do it justice! There is ample space for a large or extended family (we were a party of 7 adults and 2 children), a lovely kitchen/diner stocked full of all the crockery and utensils required to cook family meals (with an outdoor pizza oven as a bonus), lots of books, board games and dvds to enjoy together and unwind around the log fire in the evening. We were only there for a short break so didn't explore the local area much but it seems to be very close to lots of different attractions and we enjoyed a few lovely walks. I really couldn't recommend the space more - it made for a perfect short get away from the hustle and bustle of London.

We had a great stay at Ben's cottage! The view is spectacular and the cottage is easily the most well-equipped place we've stayed to date. Would recommend to anyone looking for homely place to enjoy a relaxing break away.

We had an incredible time in Ben's beautiful cottage. The house is wonderfully kitted out and furnished, with cosy lounges and a lovely kitchen, and wood burning stoves to add to the atmosphere. We only stayed two nights but wish we could have stayed longer. The location is also stunning - a mere fifteen minutes from lovely Lyme Regis - and the view from the house is worth the money alone, with the extensive grounds gazing out across the Dorset countryside. It would be amiss not to mention Ben himself - great communications from day 1, and went out of his way to help with the booking. Thanks for letting us stay in your truly special second home!

My family and I cannot speak highly enough about our stay! The cottage was homely, spacious, well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. It is family friendly with lots of board games, books, DVDs to keep you entertained. What cannot be put into words is the gardens and the incredible view. The view alone is enough for you to want to stay there forever! It is picturesque and photos do not give the view justice! The gardens are beautiful and with the added bonus of a tree house, tree swing and zip wire for children. We highly recommend this cottage and cannot fault it- we are desperate to return!

Wonderful weekend getaway in this remote countryside retreat... With the coast line only a short trip away it has the best of both worlds! The house has bags of character and everything you need.

If you are looking for a quaint, quirky but cosy cottage in the middle of the countryside then this is a perfect place to stay. We spent 2 nights and explored the local area of Lyme Regis, Beer and Sidmouth which are all within driving distance. Would recommend this cottage for your stay in this area.

It's a great place to just chill out in front of the fire and for the kids to enjoy the outdoors. So close to the coast and local towns and yet just far enough away to have the peace of the countryside. If you like a log burning fire that's warms your feet and country walks at your doorstep then it's a great place to visit. But if you fancy a party I think you'd also be quietly surprised. The house is clean and well equipped. For us as 4 adults and 4 kids the house had plenty of room but maybe just not enough hot water...but who would! I loved keeping the log burner going as I do in our own home, it is a real joy but you have to do a little work. We're looking forward to coming here again. Enough said:)

Great place to for chilling with family and friends. Very relaxed.

Quirky place. Lovely country setting with great views. Nice short stroll into village. Have to set and keep wood burner going to have hot water and need to reset fuse for water pump regularly which is annoying. Cottage has owners things everywhere like shoes on stairs and coats etc so you have to work around that. Feels like they just stepped out and you are house sitting. Table tennis room is shed outside with stuff all around.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Great for families - and close to the brilliant fossil beaches at Lyme and Charmouth. We had a fab holiday - even in Winter - loved the massive wood burning stove and big garden - and the ping pong! Kids were well entertained and Moby is a great host.

The listing description was accurate. A rural, quiet location. No light pollution so stars were fab. No traffic noise at all. Really cosy but spacious cottage. Loved the wood burner (and instructions for use). Fab position for all Jurassic Coast activities. Felt as we were actually staying in someones home (all personal belongings around including two lovely cats !) not a sterile holiday let. 5 star for us all the way but don`t expect an expensive fitted kitchen or 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. You will be in the wrong place. We came with the open mind Moby suggested and we left wanting more. xx

I arrived a bit early and got checked in at once. It was a beautiful room with nice decor and an amazing mattress, haven't slept this well in a long time! Very friendly family and very generous breakfast. All very clean and well looked after.

What a wonderful B&B! It looks exactly like the picture! Carol, Les & Sam were all fabulous hosts. We arrived quite late in the evening but they still welcomed us with smiles and showed us to our rooms. The Beds are VERY comfortable and the rooms are gorgeously decorated in different themes. The breakfast was fabulous and included everything that we did or didn't want. Les recommended a great beach where we could walk our dog. It was beautiful. Thanks Les! Really great B&B I would highly recommend. (3 Germans, 1 Kiwi & a wee dog)

We went for a family reunion, after some initial confusion (my fault) Lisa was extremely helpful and allowed me to change the date and also the final number of family members. The place was amazing for what we needed and had lots of space for all the family aged from 1 to 67. My family were all very happy with the place and the access given to a real farm was great for the younger children. Perfect for a larger gathering of family members or as I noticed they also do educational trips. The kitchen was also amazing with an industrial sized washing machine / steriliser, giant oven and lots of big pots and pans that meant we could cook for over 25 people and do the dishes in no time at all. Already planning our next trip.

We were suspicious there were no reviews but our risk taking was more than rewarded. Simon and Judith have just opened for business and we were their first guests. We were blown away by the beauty of the place and the warmth of the owners. An ancient house, we enjoyed two bedrooms and our own living room with fire place and a very good quality Wi-fi. You should have heard the squeals of delight of our children when we arrived. Simon and Judith have a background in farming and education. Food products are locally sourced and we loved our breakfast with home made marmalade and bread. They are so easy to talk too and so natural. We will be back and can not recommend them highly enough to other Airbnb guests.

Lulu's cottage was a lovely get away from it all, with rustic charm and unspoilt views. The cottage was well equipped with everything you would need and communication and directions were great. Cottage is ideally sandwiched within the beautiful countryside and coastlines. Superb break, thanks

A very beautiful little cottage with stunning views.

We had a wonderful 4 nights at the cottage. Hygge in spades! We couldn't get over the wonderful view at the back of the property - you can literally see for miles. On the first morning we walked from the cottage to Lambert's Castle - where you get great panoramic views. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure was excellent and the big bonus was having an open fireplace. All in all a first class experience and we hope to go again.

Perfekte Weihnachten bleiben! Das Haus ist ideal für eine erholsame Zeit weg, viele Waldwege in der Nähe und 20 Minuten Fahrt an die Küste. Das Haus verfügt über eine beeindruckende Aussicht und ist sehr schön und geräumig mit 3 Schlafzimmern im Obergeschoss. Der offene Kamin sorgt für zusätzliche Gemütlichkeit. Lulu war wirklich hilfreich unseren Aufenthalt in der Organisation, kann es sehr empfehlen!

A secluded, quiet and gorgeous house with stunning views that go on for miles. The house is perfect with all the necessary facilities. Near enough to Axminster, Lyme Regis and Charmouth but away from all traffic too. Loved it and the children would love to come back!
