The LJK Ranch House was built in 1900. Here you will find the beautiful vista of the Nebraska Sandhills and wildlife inherent to the area. You will be surrounded by nature and quiet solitude and the incredible night skies. You will very seldom hear any man-made noise. 10 miles south is the Unincorporated community of Tryon where you'll find a cafe with a small grocery selection, post office, credit union, courthouse and filling station. North Platte and I-80 is 35 miles south.
Guests will enjoy the full use of the entire house, including three bedrooms, two baths, living spaces, kitchen and dining room as well as all of the outdoor areas. For the adventurous, the entire Sandhills surrounding the home is accessible for hiking, birdwatching or watching the sunrise or sunset. Photography is encouraged! In addition to birds, you may be fortunate enough to witness wild Turkeys, both Mule and Whitetail Deer, Coyotes, Antelope, Box Turtles and more.
Only available April 15 through November 1 each year.
The Nebraska Sandhills is the largest sanddune formation in the western hemisphere and one of the highest beef producing states in the US. The nearest house is a mile away "as the crow flies", which means across the hills. To drive to the nearest neighbor you would travel two miles.
