Coastal

Coastal areas with nice walks and coastal pubs.
Lovely spot to take in the scenery. You can even walk across the beach between Little Haven and Broad Haven at low tide. You’ll find pub favourites and local caught fish specials at a The St Brides Inn, which is a real traditional family friendly coastal pub.... their Mediterranean style fish stew is a favourite!! There is also the Castle Inn serving traditional pub grub or if you just fancy a pint and packet of crisps you have The Swan Inn.

A lovely part of the coast, especially popular with families as the beach is what I would class as a safe, open beach with rock pools. Great place to have a walk, or just relax with a tray of fish and chips.

Near Stackpole Quay, Barafundle bay is a curved east facing beach with white sands. An absolute wonderful view when the beach is in sight. A bit of a walk to get from the car park, so make sure you bring everything you need but worth the walk.

An easy walk around Bosherston's beautiful lily ponds, with options to explore the dunes and pools of the Mere Pool Valley behind Broadhaven beach. The walk is mostly along even gravel paths with two narrow causeways. This walk is rich in wildlife all year round.

A wonderful part of coastal walk with the hidden gem of the natural deep water ‘Blue Lagoon’ which is popular for cliff jumping. Whilst walking along the coast path you can normally spot seals sunbathing in the rocky coves.

Nolton Haven is a hamlet halfway along the coast of St Bride's Bay. It is included within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. When the tide is out the beach is a mixture of stones and sand but fairly sheltered and is popular for swimmers all year round. The car park is right by the beach, which makes it an ideal stop off for a picnic or if you just want a couple of hours relaxing on a smaller, quieter beach. High tide is great for paddle boarding and swimming.

Milford Marina has been establishing over the past 20 years now offering great places to eat, from cafés to restaurants. A lovely area to walk and take in the views and maybe even buy yourself something to remind you of your time in Pembrokeshire from one of the small, independently owned boutiques.
Milford waterfront is somewhere for all the family. By day you’ll find independent boutiques, cafés, ice cream parlour and restaurants. Then the evening comes alive with the string of bistro lighting running the length of the marina giving a Mediterranean vibe for people enjoying food and drinks outside the numerous restaurants and bars, offering something to suit everyone. https://www.milfordwaterfront.co.uk

A family run pub/restaurant in the village of Dale offering both traditional pub food and gastro style menu, specialising in seasonal, locally caught fish options. Great place for Lobster and chips! If you’re not fancying a big meal, then why not go for some local oysters or prawns and a pint stood by the sea wall or sat on the pebbled beach taking in the views over the bay.

Newport Pembs is a perfect village tucked away on the North coast of Pembrokeshire. It is desirable for food-lovers, beach-lovers and historians. Despite its small size, it has plenty of options for eating and exploring. Around a 45 minute, picturesque drive from Haverfordwest, passing through the Harbour town of Fishguard on the way.

Melin Tregwynt woollen mill can be found in a remote wooded valley on the Pembrokeshire coast. There has been a mill on the site since the 17th century, when local farmers would bring their fleeces to be spun into yarn and woven into sturdy Welsh wool blankets. It is a working mill, owned by the same family since 1912. They have a great millshop & cafe and well worth a visit for a look at their day to day workings in the mill followed by coffee and cake or light lunch, enjoying the lovely surroundings. Ps, If you’re going to treat yourself to a Welsh keepsake to remind you of your Pembrokeshire holiday, I’m sure you’ll find something here!

Llys-y-Frân is a very special place in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains. The reservoir was opened in 1972 to supply clean water to Pembrokeshire. The dam is a feat of engineering, but it has also preserved this landscape as a haven for nature and wildlife. The 350 acres of woodland, grassland and lake are perfect for walking, cycling and fishing – with a whole range of activities on land and water. From bike trails, paddle boarding, kayaking and boating to name a few or enjoy a nice trail walk taking in the peace of the surroundings and glorious views around the damn. A hub for health, wellbeing and recreation brought to you by Welsh Water. Relax, refuel and take in the stunning views across the water from the Visitor Centre, complete with grift shop and café where you can enjoy a drink, slice of cake or meal from the seasonal menu. N.B Please check opening times before planning a trip here!
