Revolution Rail Co. offers railbiking as a fun excursion activity that allows riders to ride the railroad tracks under their own power and explore a section of the Adirondacks that has never seen passenger traffic.
We did both routes offered as a family and everyone enjoyed it (the photo here was taken on the North Bridge run). It is very popular and books far in advance so book well ahead!

Whitewater Rafting available seasonally on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
There are multiple options offering rafting trips down the Hudson but we recommend this one because we personally used it multiple times and had amazing experience each time (featuring family rafting photo here). They are also conveniently located less than a mile away from our home.

3921 NY-28Beaver Brook is an all-inclusive, all season outfitters serving the Southern Adirondacks. They full day whitewater rafting trips in the Hudson Gorge, flat water canoeing and kayaking and ski rentals.
Whitewater Rafting available seasonally on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
There are multiple options offering rafting trips down the Hudson but we recommend this one because we personally used it multiple times and had amazing experience each time (featuring family rafting photo here). They are also conveniently located less than a mile away from our home.
The beach is clean and well protected by lifeguards (Yes this is your hostess on a SUP in a photo). The lake is perfect for small kids as well. You can play tennis, basketball, volleyball, fish, swim, BBQ or explore lake by kayak, canoe or paddleboard if you have one. Before Covid, there used to be a kayak and paddle board rental and a small food stand selling hot dogs, burgers, and fries right on the beach, we are not certain what will be the setup this summer.

Minerva Lake
The beach is clean and well protected by lifeguards (Yes this is your hostess on a SUP in a photo). The lake is perfect for small kids as well. You can play tennis, basketball, volleyball, fish, swim, BBQ or explore lake by kayak, canoe or paddleboard if you have one. Before Covid, there used to be a kayak and paddle board rental and a small food stand selling hot dogs, burgers, and fries right on the beach, we are not certain what will be the setup this summer.

Also, we always try to support a local business and invest money in the community where we can so would definitely ask our guests to check it out as well.

This gem is just short 10 minute drive away. Arrive early as parking is scarce. Bring your own canoe, kayak or a paddle board or take a tour/rent a kayak from Beaver Brook Outfitters. No useful beach available, just a boat launch about 500 feet from parking - prepare to carry you canoe/kayak/SUP. Small lake with no motorized boats. One of our favorite spots to paddle and swim. There's no official beach but you can hike around the sides to find a private cove

No useful beach available, just a boat launch about 500 feet from parking - prepare to carry you canoe/kayak/SUP. Small lake with no motorized boats. One of our favorite spots to paddle and swim. You will love the unique decor and the yurts built for apres ski hangouts as well as the outdoor area with a stage to showcase local artists. In the winter they keep a fire going outdoors and even build an igloo for the kids.

We have seen their cheeses being offered at pretty high end bars and restaurants as well as Whole Foods in NJ. They also rescue local animals and we adopted the most adorable kitten from this center in April of 2021.
