Åsnens national park is one of the newest national parks in Sweden. It's a fantastic spot with unspoilt forests and lakes.

Sara Bäckmo is a well known Swedish garden expert, blogger and journalist. She has a shop/garden in Kalvsvik (close to Ingelstad).
They sell all kinds of garden related items. and of course, Sara Bäckmo's selection of vegetable seeds. But keep in mind: opening hours are limited.

At the local Gymnasiet, there is a little animal park (Zebra's, Wallaby's and Alpaca's). Don't expect a 'real' zoo experience but it could be a fun spot for a little stroll or picnic. Please note: only open on Saturday/Sunday.

About 45 minutes from Ingelstad but worth the visit if you want to experience a really cool zipline adventure. If you are afraid of heights: they have a cosy café as well ;-).

If you want to enjoy a great view over the Rottnen lake, the Knapelid viewpoint might be a nice stop. It's also a starting point if you want to walk on the Sigfridsleden. You will also pass this spot if you cycle around the Rottnen lake (60km)

It's also literally a very green city with forests and lakes within walking distance.
