Sightseeing

Where the historic Wimbledon tennis championships are played. About a 15-20 minute walk from the flat. I’ve never been out of season but lots of tourists visit even when the tennis isn’t on. They have a museum and tour which are popular: https://bookings.wimbledon.com/stadiumtours/booking/default.htm

Walking

Wimbledon Common: 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive to the free car park in the common next to the Windmill cafe. It's much bigger than you expect and it's beautiful. A lovely mixture of forest, ponds and open spaces for walking. The Windmill cafe in Wimbledon Common is great place for a sandwich and coffee. You can even walk all the way through Wimbledon Common, cross over the A3 road and walk around Richmond Park which is also beautiful and has slightly different terrain.

Fun

Flip Out is a 20-25 minute walk from the flat. If you don't want to walk then probably best to drive or Uber as there's not really any public transport to take you in that direction. It's a trampolining venue and great fun for children, teenagers and active adults!. This is what it says on their website home page: "London’s biggest trampoline park, Flip Out Wandsworth is a trampoline park that offers something for all ages. It boasts a huge arena of over 3530m2 with nearly a hundred trampolines to choose from - including Olympic and toddler trampolines, go-carts, an under 5’s dedicated area with jungle gym and 3 brand new giant inflatables!!! You brave enough to jump out of drop zone? And if that was not enough, they also offer party packages -from toddler birthdays to office parties or stag/hen do's, Fitness sessions, Free-Running (parkour) classes for all levels and even Parent & Baby Yoga. On Friday evenings, the After Dark jumping sessions bring a true party atmosphere to the arena with smoke machines, light shows and super sound systems to keep you and your crew jumping through the night." https://www.flipout.co.uk/view/flip-out-wandsworth

Neighbourhoods

Wimbledon is a really great, safe area. It's divided into 'Wimbledon town', which is the area you find yourself in if you get the train or tube to Wimbledon, and 'Wimbledon Village' which is the slightly posher area up the hill from Wimbledon Town. Wimbledon Village has plenty of nice pubs (Dog & Fox and Crooked Billet are personal favourites) and restaurants, which are more expensive than Southfields or Wimbledon Town.

Earlsfield is a 25-28 minute walk from the flat. It's another nice area with plenty of pubs and restaurants. It also has a train line, which is one stop to Clapham Junction (you can get most places in London from here), two stops to Vauxhall (on the Victoria line, a very fast tube line that goes straight through the middle of London, south to north) and three stops to London Waterloo (another very well connected train and tube station).
