Red Hook
Cute town with lots of great restaurants and the ferry to St John
Our unit is located near Bolongo Bay Beach. All 40 beaches on St. Thomas are public. You can snorkel in Bolongo Bay and sign up for the catamaran (charge applies). Bolongo Bay Beach Resort also has a beach hut where for a nominal charge (about $5 US) you can rent chairs, towels, umbrellas and use their beach games all day. You can also bring the chairs and beach gear that we provide. To get there, just walk down the path and through the gate in between Regatta Point Villas and Watergate Villas (the lower condos on the east side of the property. Walk past Mim’s Seafood Bistro and the Watergate Pool (which you can use), and down along the beach. It’s about an easy walk.

Just a 5 minute drive from our place, Secret Harbor is a great spot for enjoying the beach and snorkeling. We have seen cutest octopus while snorkeling at this beach. Overall it is an easy spot to hit that is quiet and beautiful! We also LOVE the two restaurants!

As a hike try the Mermaid’s Chair where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet; at low tide you can walk between them , at high tide they are connected….pretty cool ….there’s literally only one palm tree between the two at low tide….

Hookie Spot- John Brewers Cave Hike
The trail starts near Salt Pond Beach, which is located towards the Southwest part of the island. From Cruz Bay, it’s a 35 minute drive, so you will need to have a car to reach it. Taking your rental car over on the car ferry or renting a car/jeep for the day is the easiest option and gives you a lot of flexibility.
