This neighborhood restaurant is one of the favorite hang out spot for Mile End locals. Styled as an old diner for the 70's, you'll find one of the best burger around, mouth-watering cheese fries, and plenty of good reinvented classics.

Drinks & Nightlife

Known as the No Name Bar by locals (there's no signage anywhere), this cuban and turkish inspired bar makes some of the best cocktails in the neighborhood. Often quiet, and with french classics playing in the background, it's the perfect place to have a drink after a work day, during the weekend (or anytime, really).

Tucked away in the basement in Chinatown, this cocktail bar makes some of the best cocktails in town. Expect fruity, tropical flavors, some drinks are even served in coconuts! My only word of warning is that their drinks are strong, while still tasting like fruit juice - keep this in mind before you realize you're drinking your 15th cocktail of the night.

Essentials

My go-to grocery store. It's small, and mostly a speciality convenience store, but you'll get fresh fruits and veggies, fresh meats, a good selection of cheeses, and even imported candies. They've got a great selection of beers too.

Although it's best to buy beer in small convenience stores (locally referred as "deps"), you'll have to visit the SAQ, the provincially owned liquor store for a good selection of wine and spirits. This is the closest, but you can find other locations and see in-store product availability at http://saq.com
