A bright and friendly boba and Chinese food cafe that is lively and great for meeting a friend, or browsing the internet on their free Wifi. Shawn and Tiger, the owners, are extremely friendly and welcoming. Their teas and bobas are tasty, and their beef noodle soup is our kids' favorites. Their popcorn chicken is tasty as well!

Great selection of brunch items and salads. Great place to meet up with a friend or to read the paper. Their open faced egg salad sandwich is so good and their red velvet cupcake is amazing.

Bright and beautiful lighting in this casual local cafe/coffeeshop- great to getting some work on your laptop on their free Wifi. Their salsa verde beef tacos are really good (and only $2 on Taco Tuesdays!).

Super cute cafe with yummy sandwiches on fresh baked breads. I believe they have a live guitarist who plays there on Thursdays, but call to make sure. The ambience is really quaint.

Our friends own this neighborhood family-friendly and very tasty pizza joint. Their pizza never disappoints- and our kids love the "tomato pie" which is surprisingly delicious even though there's no cheese!

This place is SOOOO good. The owners are apparently serious chefs and its shows. Their Corn "Sotto" Tostada is SO good- the only problem is that I want 2 plates of it. Their avocado toasts and other toasts (with home made raspberry jam) is ridiculously good.

Great healthy alternative to fast food- these giant burrito style sushi rolls are delicious and filling. We like the "hot" wrap (with hot cheetos crushed on the outside), the shrimp tempura, and the vegetarian. They're all pretty good.

Very rich and hearty artisanal ramen house with friendly service. When going with kids, you can order 1 ramen and just order extra noodles to get 2 meals for the price of 1.5! Their add-ons (rice bowls, etc.) are also a great deal.

We love Trader Joe's. It's hard not to when we live within a 30 second walk from it! Try their samples in the back of the market- they are always so good. Plus the free coffee is fun. If you have kids, have them find the stuffed animal hiding in the market to win a prize from the sample desk (free lollipop or piece of fruit).

Beautiful gardens in nearby La Canada. They have an incredible light show during the holidays that you must buy tickets for way in advance- but is well worth it. Very magical experience for all ages.
