Nice local coffee shop and restaurant. New menu has a lot of local foods incorporated into it, but can still provide a Starbucks feel for the less adventurous traveler :)

Amazing mix of food culture, the restaurant managed to get every continent under one roof successfully. Try something new from the menu each visit, if anything I recommend the whole menu!
Best time to go; happy hour (from 4) on weekdays, and any lunch hour if you're avoiding the crowds

Now this is a restaurant but it's way too entertaining to not consider as a night out. Amazing food, good music, live events to take place so be sure to check so you don't miss out.

Langata RoadNow this is a restaurant but it's way too entertaining to not consider as a night out. Amazing food, good music, live events to take place so be sure to check so you don't miss out.

Lovely atmosphere, great mix of African and Western music. Has some quieter areas if dancing isn't the aim of the night. If you go earlier in the evening it is an amazing place to lounge and catch up with friends

Amazing club, complete mix of genres but also great to have a good fusion of afrobeats from across the continent too. Dress up, it totally adds to the atmosphere.
-Watermelon is probably my shisha of choice

Now I realise that this isn't even in the same city, but if you are up for a local road trip, grab some friends and buckle up for 2 hours. If you want to really experience kenyan nightlife, that would be a great place to start or finish. Local hotels and rooms can be recommended and the club closes at 8:30am for those wild ones .

Perfect place to do some local-style shopping and amazing grills and restaurants hidden inside. Mostly for the carnivore, not really vegeterian or pescatrian friendly. Very easy on the pocket and you could easily get your hair braided as you pick out some locally designed clothes and accessories!
Not the biggest tourist attraction but a major place in Nairobi.

Great collection of local artistry in various forms. Very cheap. Not so touristy, and one of the best parts is it moves around Nairobi during the week. Each day it's located in a completely different part of town, just following the market gets you to see the city at the very least :)
The market on thursday even comes with live music!

Lovely building and it's located in the central business district which in itself lets you soak in Nairobi culture. Perfect place to begin a walkabout in town.
