Restaurant De Smederij (the black smith) is a cozy but extremely good restaurant. Its considered to be one of Enkhuizens hidden gems, as mostly locals come to dine here. They are well known for their great kitchen and the best part of it all is: they are right around our corner!

I'm quite a sucker for coffee and the proud owner of the Amsterdam Coffee brand 'Maling'. And I must say that this is my favourite place to grab my coffee to go in Enkhuizen. I love their flat white's! Don't forget to buy some of their specialist coffee's or tea's in their beautiful 16th century store.

Arts & Culture
The Zuiderzee museum is the number one activity in Enkhuizen, a must see. It is built as a small city with real houses that are all relocated from the former Zuiderzee villages. From our house there are two ways to get to the museum. The easiest way is to walk out our front door, take a left and walk towards the ‘dijk’. From there just follow the dijk to the right, all the way to the entrance (+/- 5-minute walk). The nicest way to get there however, is by boat! Take a short stroll towards the station. From the harbor right next to the station you’ll find a ferry that takes you across the water and brings you to the entrance of the museum.

The 'Flessenscheepjes Museum' has the worlds biggest collections of bottle ships with over a 1.000 ships in a bottle. The museum is actually our neighbour so you can't - and shouldn't - miss it! When you exit the station and walk towards the city center you can't miss it! The Snuck van Loosenpark is an historically important park to our city. When the last family member died the Snouck van Loosen family donated loads of money to develop houses for the poor in this park. The park is therefore also known as one of the first social housing projects in the Netherlands.
