Sightseeing
If you have the time to make it up to pigeon forge and/or Gatlinburg, you should definitely go. This is where all the tourists and even locals go. You name it they got it. Theme parks, shops, famous restaurants, famous hiking trails, the best views, Dollywood theme park, Smoky mountain theme, putt-putt, moonshine, whiskey, and wine tastings, banjo shows, country shows, Ripley's believe it or not aquarium, upside down mansion, titanic museum, and just so much more. Great place to visit! Just don't forget to drive the extra 10-15 minutes further to Gatlinburg to park and walk the strip. Also, make sure you take a sky lift to the top of a mountain for even more amazing views and things to do.

If you like the downtown theme, here you go. There's a bunch of restaurants, bars, and people outside playing instruments and singing for tips. It's a nice area to walk around and sometimes they have scheduled events to attend.

If you're wanting to go on a nature walk/hike but not have to drive or walk too far, this place is also a local favorite. It is only about 25 minutes away (just past downtown knoxville). It has amazing views of greenery and the Tennessee River. The trail is easy to walk and not long at all. Very nice place to go on a nice day.

This sandwich shop uses it's own ingredients for its sandwiches. it's just a few miles from where you're staying and also is a local favorite (hole in the wall). The chicken salad is fantastic!

This is our go to place. Every time we have an excuse to splurge a bit ($40-$50 per person at dinner/little cheaper at lunch) , this is where we go. If you like meat, this place has it all. it's all you can eat and all the meat is just amazing! The salad bar is even the best I've ever had. It's so good! It's about 25 minutes or so from the barndominium but so worth it.

The Knoxville Zoo is a really nice zoo. My family and I enjoy it and have season passes. So, if that's something you're into, check it out.
