You approach the musical highway and will see a sign. Then stay in the left lane and drive fast! It's a kick. Go check it out. It's the ONLY musical road in the entire USA.

Parks & Nature
Very serene walking paths. Safe. Usually pretty empty. The building on site is made eco friendly - they used hay bales. It's usually not open though. Not sure why. It has an andy gump toilet on one of the paths but that's about it. Sheriff locks the gate at sundown, unless it's the summer - then it's locked at 10:30 pm. Snakes come out at night here in the desert.

In the Spring around March-April you will hopefully see the beautiful orange poppies throughout the soft hills. You will know if theres poppies by the massive crowds flocking towards the entrance. But when there's no poppies - it's pretty barren and can get extremely windy. The restrooms are always left unlocked 24/7. The rangers are not there off season - only during the short poppy season in March. The trails are a great hike/walk for sure. Bring water. Also maybe something to cover your ears from that wind! It's not someplace people go off season so very quiet and private most of the time. Good views of the surrounding desert.
