Spend some time walking Jackson St and when your done, take a scroll down the esplanade to enjoy the sea breeze. (20minites drive from accomodation)

Moores Valley Road is mixture of rural and semi rural homes. There are 3 streets that go off moores Valley at the beginning of the rural part of the road. The first is near is the beginning. This is Whitcher Road which has great walks such as the gump loop walk nd also has the water dams and reserve at the end. Along Whitcher Road is also 2local swimming holes -Top Pool and Ultimate Pools. The second road is just beyond your accomodation this is Crowther Road and is home to residents and the Wainuiomata business of kids farm parties. The last is Broomfield Lane, a more recent area of the valley that sits just before the Broomfield Camping grounds atthe end of Moores Valley.

catching a train to the city or Wairarapa
Your accomodation is approximately 20 minutes drive to the Woburn and Waterloo train stations. Both offer free parking however, as Waterloo is the main intersection, all trains stop here so this station offers more train options than Woburn. If your heading into the city and don't want to worry about expensive car parking but don't mind walking around the city, then taking the train is the way to do it. Wellington City offers a lot of activities to do including Te Papa Museum, trips Matiu Island more food, and much more. Otherwise, go the other way on the train to Wairarapa for the day.

Especially where we are located. We have our own micro climate. It is normal to wake up to a frost and the winds can get really high. Better to have warm clothing and not need it, then need it and not have it. Also, bring good walking shoes if you intend on doing local walks.

Junglerama in Seaview (20minites away) has something for all ages. Seaview also offers ice skating, laser tag go carting and a driving range and 9hole golf course. Petone (20minutes away) has bowling and laserforce, and of course in Upper Hutt (30min away) there is Brewtown which offers something for everyone. If you want to catch a movie or check out laughalots, your best bet is lower hutt (also 20minutes away)
