Later, the southern section of the palace was further enlarged to form the stables. For balance, an orange plantation was added to the north. Finally, a large circle with baroque mansions (the Schlossrondell) was built under the rule of Maximilian Emmanuel's son, Charles VII.

The beer garden is popular with locals and tourists as well as young and old alike. From the first ray of sunshine, it develops a strong attraction for many visitors to the English Garden. Sparkling, refreshing Bavarian beer from the Hofbräuhaus is served.
Bavarian brass bands provide a traditional beer garden feeling with their hearty music at the Chinaturm. They play every Wednesday and on weekends in summer, weather permitting. (Access via U3/U6 Giselastraße, bus 54/58/68/154 or streetcar 18).
