Bang Nam Pheung is located in an unusual loop of the Chao Phraya river nicknamed 'the Green Lung of Bangkok', a surprisingly untouched area clearly visible from the sky and still covered with vegetation despite being so close to town. If your vision of a floating market is a canal crowded with a fleet of wooden boats, this might not be what you have in mind. A complete contrast to touristy Damnoen Saduak, Bang Nam Pheung is a real local market with a lot of interesting food and sweets to try. Shangri-La One of the largest riverside hotels. Its location on the river and next to a Skytrain station makes it a really great base for exploring Bankok.
