If you fancy some real American fare (think lobsters, huge prawns, ribs, chicken wings) - this is the only place to go in London. Stay away from their sister restaurant in Covent Garden though!

The name says it all - there are only 2 options on the menu. My favourite is the lobster roll (it comes in a brioche bun) - to die for!

Hands down best Asian restaurant in London. Much better than Zuma/Roka/etc. Huge portions and better prices. There is also an Italian restaurant next door, as well as a cosy jazz bar downstairs.

A buzzy and friendly bar which serves a buffet of delicious Spanish tapas (pinchos) and huge glasses of sangria. Definitely a favourite of mine.

If you are going for afternoon tea in London, this is undoubtedly the very best. Cherish Finden, the head pastry chef, recently appeared on tv in the Great British Bake Off - the Professionals, as one of the judges. There is quite often a live band playing jazz in Palm Court where the afternoon tea is served. Make sure to book well in advance.

Arrive very hungry. This market is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am until 2pm. It has an incredible array of fresh street food - everything from Thai to Spanish. My favourite are the grilled cheese sandwiches.

Quite simply the best Chinese food in London. It's quite pricey but worth every penny. It's on top of the Shard so at least you get bonus views. The eel is to die for. Make sure you book at least a month ahead.

Polpo is an interesting concept - something like Italian tapas. The pizette (super thin crunchy pizzas) and crab linguini are absolutely delicious!
