Eagles, ducks, deer, and an occasional moose will visit you. Kayak the river. Swim in nearby mountain lakes. Hike to a waterfall. Relax by one of the gas fireplaces indoors or on the patio and read a book, play a game, watch a movie. There’s no cell service but we do have Wi-Fi at the cabin. John's Walk lakeside path passes right by the house, leading you to attractive Lakeside Park. Our beach provides a peaceful spot to relax on the lake shore.

The Rusty Bear is our awesome home in Procter Point. Our rock beach on Kootenay Lake gives way to a world of watersports possibilities including kayaking, SUP and world-class fishing. The small community of Procter offers a General Store (complete with fuel and liquor) as well as the Village Bakery (with their famous cinnamon buns). Hiking and biking the Proctologist trails are just out the front door. Golfing is around the corner. Dining, if not on our amazing deck, is a short drive.

From there, it's only another 5 minutes to Baker Street where you can enjoy the myriad of unique restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and night life.

Relax in your suite with your own private 170 feet of beach on Kootenay Lake near Ainsworth Hot Springs and historic, eclectic City of Nelson. Three minutes from Kokanee Provincial Park and 10 minutes from the Balfour Ferry. Nelson is a twenty minute scenic drive along the West Arm of Kootenay Lake. Kokanee Zipline is a short 5 minute drive and we are on the doorstep of many famous mountain bike trails in Kokanee Glacier Park.
