Even if the town of Bowral wasn’t worth a daytrip, Dirty Janes would be motivation enough to drive 1.5 hours south. The space is packed with 60-odd stalls of knickknacks, old fur coats, kitchenalia, and larger furniture pieces. One cosy corner houses Suzie Anderson Home—a stall with rustic French, Belgian, and Hamptons-style furniture, homewares, and linens. The delightful Tea Salon near the entrance serves up tea and scones with jam and cream on vintage fine bone china, but if you want the best meat pies around, head down the main street and join the queue snaking out of Gumnut Patisserie.

In December 2009 The Shed closed its doors and Dirty Janes Bowral was born in the heart of Bowral. This business was expanded to larger premises which housed a main showroom known as The Emporium in the front corner building, as well as an impressive warehouse space located behind the Emporium known as The Market. The original Dirty Janes Bowral site underwent a major renovation in 2016, transforming the facade and internal fit out of the front building on the corner of Bong Bong & Banyette Street (formally The Emporium) into what is now a landmark building, known as The Acre.
