There are many things to do in the park. Here's 3 recommendations: -Worth a trip to see the Ricardo Breceda metal sculptures throughout the Borrego Valley -Visit the Palm Canyon Rangers station and hike to the springs palm grove at top. Good chance to see bighorn sheep. -Drive up to Font's Point for a spectacular sunrise or sunset view. Having 4WD or at least high clearance is a must but check with the locals to see if you can make it.

Anza Borrego State Park is about a 90 minute from the resort. There are giant and stunning sculptures throughout the desert as well as many wonderful hiking trails.

The wildflower season in Anza-Borrego is the best time of the year to visit that park. When you get to the visitor center at Borrego Springs, they can tell you the latest wildflower "sightings" and where good spots are to view the flowers. Study a guide of the park in advance, because it is a large park and there is a lot to see. Palm Canyon, the "pumpkin patch," Font's Point and the Borrego Badlands are some of the possible sights to see in that park. Some of the locations require a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to but most commonly visited areas do not. Resist the temptation to go all the way to the Salton Sea, as it is a disappointment even if you have no expectations. If your trip is to be in the summer, be aware that it gets very hot in Anza-Borrego in the summer months, and that is also a time when many bugs are flying around in the air and there are rattlesnakes around on hot nights. Right now and the next few weeks is the best time to visit there as none of those problems will be there, and the wildflowers will be there. Most people I have taken to Julian have been completely charmed by it, as it is an authentic 100-year-old gold mining town that is now an apple growing area. You can take tours of the old mines and there is a small train ride.
