It's stunning location near Llandeilo makes Castell Carreg Cennen appear like something from a fairy tale. Bs sure to check out the disconcertingly deep cave in the castle's foundation. Tea shop too!

There are more castles per square mile in Wales than in any other country in Europe! Great views from here over the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

“Dinefwr Castle You can walk from the property to Dinefwr Castle. The walk itself is lovely. Ideal for a picnic. We tend to go.... Down Crescent Road to CKs Across the road and up New Road. Then into Penlan Park, which is worth a visit on its own. Up the hill where it’s worth pausing to enjoy the view. Keep following the path to the other side of the park where you will find some steps that go down to a gate into CASTLE WOODS. Follow this path till you get to the bottom. Here you will find St Tyfi's Church. Go through the churchyard, through the gate. Go into the right field and walk along the left side of it till you find a gate on the other side Immediately you will find another gate up a hill. When you get to the next gate go left up hill. You can either just follow the track to the top or go left through the gate up the hill. It goes to the same place. Basically walk to the top of the hill and you will find the castle. If you want to come back a different way you can veer left through the woods and it will take you to Newton house.”

“A house full of gin to buy and taste, but also lovely food from Breakfast to afternoon. You can spend about £15 for a meal and drink here per person. They do have a small deli where you can buy a great range of cheeses and meats. ”
