It’s almost like a music venue that also sells books. They host a lot of jazz and so many bands play there periodically it’s as if they’re covering shifts. The store is part of a nonprofit that also publishes an annual literary review called Amerarcana that frequently includes Bay Area writers. Fridays they have family-friendly jazz 5:30 to 8:00 and kids get in free. Saturday night they have a jazz club with adult libations. They also have open mic poetry on the first and third Mondays of the month.
