A Reading institution, Sweeney and Todd is famous for award-winning pies. Established over 30 years, there are always over 20 different pies on the menu, including Stalwarts such as steak and oyster as well as seasonal pies. Eat in or take away. 8 minutes walk from The Penthouse at Hewitt.

Sweeny and Todd is an institution in the Reading food scene. If you like a pie then you’ll like Sweeneys! You walk through the shop (you can buy pies to take away) and up the steps to the restaurant. Don’t be put off by the decor; it’s been the same for years. It’s good old fashioned grub that’s probably best suited to carnivores, but it is good old fashioned cooking and good value too. They also serve real ale.

A Reading institution, Sweeney and Todd's pie shop is appropriately located next to a barber shop. Its décor may have seen better days, but it serves a fantastic range of pies (albeit more suited to carnivores - vegans best eat elsewhere). Good, simple fare at affordable prices - pies are also available to take away.

Excellent pie shop in Reading, which makes a nice change from the identikit chain restaurants around the Riverside and is always busy
