Welcome to Hummingbird House, where you can rest and relax in your own container home in the country. We have designed two containers with your comfort in mind. Whether you want to relax inside the bedroom and listen to our record collection or chill out in the large outdoor tub surrounded by our lush landscaping we will make sure you have everything you need. We only have one unit here, so come be our exclusive guests. Drive down our road through trees and cattle fields and stay on the edge of the woods in a pocket of privacy. Our property is full of mature elm and oak trees. We have 7 acres of park like trails cut and mowed throughout the property. We protect our wildlife habitats so wild turkey, wild hogs, whitetail deer, raccoons, armadillos, hummingbirds, Robins, egrets, painted buntings, and red tail and red shoulder hawks are on the property.

The Package Store

Relax at this early 20th century former package store that now nestles among post oaks and pines on our family ranch in Bastrop County. The Package Store was built by my grandfather in the early 1930’s overlooking the Brazos River in the East Texas community of Washington-on-the-Brazos. “Old Washington,” as it is locally known, was the site of the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico on March 2, 1836.
