The Train - BoxGrove Farm

The Train is a converted “red rattler” Sydney Metro train. Compartments act as bedrooms and a long extension with fireplace enclosed one side, providing a lounge room. BoxGrove is a picturesque 170 acre family farm boasting breathtaking views, beautiful gardens and unique farm stays. We're a wedding venue primarily, but occasionally have weekends free. Turn right out of our driveway, and you're 10 minutes from town. Turn left, and you're on your way to Hill End, Sofala and The Bridle Track.

Carriage 4388 is suitable for 2 people and is fully self contained (including kitchen). Just 20 minutes from Canberra City, surrounded by cool climate wineries and vineyards, this vintage railway carriage has come to rest in picturesque and peaceful, rural surroundings and so can you. A cooked breakfast is included in the tariff.

100 year old Railway Carriage

Comfortable but compact, set in beautiful bushland, owner's house closeby. 10 minutes from shops, restaurants and railway station. 50 minutes from Sydney Airport. Extra note: some guests have mentioned swimming in the George's River but this is not always advisable due to water quality . Also while there is an electric BBQ it is not always possible to light the open fire because of legal restrictions.

Nambucca Valley Train Carriages Red carriage

Both our red & green carriages are modeled from the balcony ended tram car Built by Great Eastern Railways, England in 1884. The tram car was built for the Wisebec to Upwell line. Diane & I have built this unique accommodation from the ground up overlooking the NSW North Coast Railway line. The two carriages are located 90 metres from our house & sited to provide you with your own privacy.
