Close to Denmark's second-largest forest area - Gribskov - National Royal North Zealand with the beautiful castles and magnificent scenes of nature with lakes, forests and beaches. Historically Gilleleje is an old fishing village and it was here that many Jews were transported to Sweden during World War II. Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. Haven er gået i skov med stier, der jævnligt slåes. Huset opvarmes med pejs, brændeovn og varmepumpe. Der er vaskemaskine og opvaskemaskine. Arresø ligger 5 minutters gang fra sommerhuset og 10 minutter væk ligger restaurant Tinggården. Området er præget af natur og sommerhuse og skønne strande i cykelafstand.
