The cottage features 3 spacious bedrooms, each on its own level; a fully equipped kitchen; great room; dining room; laundry room; and a 2nd-floor loft accessing the 16'-wide balcony. A 20' x 12' deck offers space for outdoor relaxing and dining and opens to the yard with fire pit.

The Olde Springhouse is our cozy cottage just 1 block off Main str and a few more from the Virginia Creeper Trail-Head. The Trail is open 17 from Abingdon to Damascus! This gem is at the epicenter of shops, restaurants and nightlife! Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly water front river cottage (Approximately 1,700sf)! Bring your fishing pole and relax! We have Kayaks and life jackets available upon request at no charge (life jackets required!). Enjoy some time on the hammocks by the river or step into the hot tub on the deck over looking the river. Please note we do have a video camera overlooking the driveway as well as overlooking the stairway and river bank below the river cottage.

The Cottage at Historic Sutherland Manor est. 1807

Helene update: the farm is undamaged and roads leading to it are passable. This farm cottage is located on a historic 40 acre farmstead behind a beautiful farmhouse (which is under renovation) with views of The Peak, Ashe County’s highest mountain. We are bordering Elk Knob State Park and a 10 minute drive to the park entrance. The farm is located in the historic Sutherland valley district and was built in 1807 by Thomas Sutherland.
