Remote and secluded, Sandstone sits on a hill that was the property’s quarry, where the old-timers split the mountain’s sandstone rocks to make the foundation stones for their cellar and house. Their excavation holes are visible from the cabin. We thought that was so cool, so we carved out a place for Sandstone too! It has a queen bed, dresser, large porch with views of the river, a clawfoot tub with shower, sink, toilet, and a well stocked farmhouse kitchenette with a double induction cook top, sink , fridge and more. The chalet is conveniently located one mile from Summersville Lake (Battle Run Recreation Area), 22-miles from the New River Gorge National Park, and four miles from the Upper Gauley River rafting and kayaking put-in.
