The Birds Nest is an above-the-garage studio apartment with a view of the valley and our working farm. Located at the end of a quiet dirt road, our 36 acres provide a respite for the body and soul with trails and vistas, and engage the mind in sustainable agriculture with a discount on our Farm Tour & Tasting. Our water is from a well. It is tested regularly and is completely safe though it can have a sulfur smell at times. There is an RO filter/faucet in the kitchen for drinking water.

In 2019 my husband and I set out to renovate this old pool house into a self-sustainable apartment or tiny home in our backyard. The Amberg House was completed in 1911 at the pinnacle of Wright's Prairie Style influence. Though every Wright home is special, the Amberg House is a unique collaboration between Wright and Marion Mahony. Mahony worked with Wright from 1896 until 1909. A graduate of MIT, she was the first woman to be licensed as an architect in the US.
