This is a must-visit for anyone traveling through Des Moines! A 3-mile paved walking path around the lake is the perfect place to take an afternoon stroll, see local wildlife, see views of downtown Des Moines, and get some fresh air. During the warmer seasons you can rent boats from the boathouse. The bridge lights up at night, and is a really fun thing to see in person if you're able to stop by at nighttime, too.

Rent a kayak or just go for a walk around the lake. This is a beautiful place to see the sun go down over downtown.

Excellent paved walking trail that follows the rim of the lake. Beautiful views and even a beach for swimming! You can also rent paddle boats, sailboats, or kayaks to enjoy the lake from!

Gray's Lake features a winding jogging trail with rainbow lights that make it sparkle at night. I love jogging here!

Awesome spot to chill on the beach, enjoy the swing set and jungle gym, walk/bike/rollerblade around the lake. Head across the street and check out the trees, flowers and lakes and rivers at Water Works Park.
